Hi Marcus, a few months ago I had my LLB first year examinations. In that time I was entirely clueless as to what I should do. I was sure that I was going to be failing and having to take resit exams. I was especially worried about Public Law as I had very limited knowledge about it. However, your videos not only helped me pass but I was able to get a 60/100. I just came back here to thank you for your videos as I am not sure what I would have done without them. (I also managed to pass all other exams thankfully)

Excellent video! One trifling note: while you are correct to state that in Germany, treaties take effect when signed by the head of state (cf Article 59 (1) of the Basic Law), in the United States, treaties can only take effect when signed by the head of state AND ratified by the second chamber- the Senate (cf Article II (2) of the US constitution).

The concept of unlimited parliamentary sovereignty is a deeply English principle and has no counterpoint in Scottish Constitutional Law. Scots Law is protected in all perpetuity by the Act of Union 1707. Under Scots Constitutional Law (as per the Declaration of Arbroath, Claim of Right 1689 and the Claim of Right 1988) the people of Scotland are sovereign. The concept of parliamentary sovereignty comes from the old English Parliament which was dissolved in April 1707 along with the old Parliament of Scotland. Why would the new UK Parliament inherit all the traits of the old English Parliament but none of the traits of the old Scottish Parliament? In July 2018 The UK Parliament debated the Claim of Right 1989 and accepted the principle. It was then recorded into Hansard. Even the UK Supreme Court accepts the Claim of Right.
