Solo through Listen Bus - AFL and PFL Solo Modes Explained

In this video, I demonstrate the "Solo through Listen Bus" feature in Studio One. More specifically what it does, the 2 new Solo Modes it adds to Studio One, and why it's a great option for tracking studio who need to be able to Solo their Main Mix without effecting Cue Mix Sends - and without having to give up the option of having Cue Mix Sends on FX Returns and Bus Channels.

I was looking for a way to listen to reference tracks, unprocessed by plugins on the main bus. About five minutes into this video I realized that I could set up a listen bus, solo reference tracks thru it, and achieve this goal. I may look for a better way but your clear description of very complex tools make your tutorials simply invaluable. Bravo and thanks.

This is great...I got a Quantum 2626 last May and I couldn't figure out how to send effects return to cue mix until right now....great information here. Thanks!

Yup ! Old Skool here - AFL as standard, PFL when required, SIP nah! I'm relatively new to my Quantum 2632 and I can get quite confused enough, thank you very much, between my Listen Channel routing and that little selector panel on the R/H end of the S1 Mix Pane; WITHOUT SIP make things even more complicated !!

@Marcus Huyskens I have the "Listen Bus" setup as well as "Solo thru listen bus". PROBLEM: Whenever I solo a track the volume of the track while in solo mode appears to be reduce by 40% - 50%! Why is that??? How can I stop that from happening? If I turn of the option "Solo Thru Listen Bus" then when I solo a track the volume stays at whatever the current volume level is for that soloed track, which is what it should be.

hey Marcus...im not 100% sure about Cue Mixes and Listen Buses... Is it possible to have a Mic input/Mic Channel for Voiceovers but not ending Master Out ? Becuase of the Clipper and Limiter in the Main Out... Lets say i want to make a S1 Beat making Tutorial while talking etc...the Beat is ending in the Main Out with a Limiter and also Latency... my Voiceover Channel with Insert FX in the Input with Monitoring would always be added to the Main Out so it gets also Clipped and Limited etc...? Is the Cue Mix or the Listen Bus an alternativ Solution ?
