You skipped the side chain!!!! The side chain on ProEQ2 shows you the frequency information of another track. This is helpful if you’re trying to eq your kick and or bass, you can feed the other into the side chain and see the frequency information!! I made a series of videos going over all the controls of the stock plugins but I believe my ProEQ video was the older version.

I usually love the quality of the included stock plugins in S1, but Pro EQ 2 is one of those I'm happy to use 3rd party anytime. As feature request suggests on the FR Page: - Make it resizable (we can't see a thing) - Give it a solo band function (we don't want to get fooled by boosting narrow resonances in the mix) Additionally it would be nice to have unlimited amount of bands preferably switchable, up to 96db/octave on the filters, and up to 40 Q slope which probably not limited to +-24dB. Or just remove the name "Pro" in it. It is not. Not yet.

This series is great! Great presenter too. I'm only an Artist user but I'm learning a lot from these official videos. I can't say the same about other companies, regardless of what product. Often times, official videos are useless, but not when it's PreSonus.

Thanks for explaining more of about the LLC. Studio One has some nice stock plugins and explaining how something can be out of phase and how to adjust that with the LLC is something I will be trying today.

I needed this. But I also need the note FX to help with my drums. It's great on melodies and chord but I NEED to mess with swing on all my drums with a knob or something. I like groove maps but sometimes I just need everything to be a little bit adjusted

It would be nice to hear the changes in fq bands separately, similar to solo behavior in multiband compressor. I often set up high pass filter to hear what the changes do in detail, though I'm not sure if it's the best approach.

@brettmarlar41542 жыл бұрын
I would figure that the side chain option, would be used as a frequency ducking. So if you have two instruments that are competing for the same bandwidth, you could have one step out of the way for the other, but keeps it's volume intact. I'm only posing a hypothesis, as I haven't run an experiment, but I may have to do that today. P.O.L. = Per Octave Level?
@michaelsmith88362 жыл бұрын
You can also adjust the frequencies by clicking the numeric representation below the knobs and keying in the value. Sometimes my mouse won’t pause on the value I want (like 11.98 instead of 12 and when I move it up 12.01, it won’t land on 12.00). If that kind of thing bothers you like it does me, there you go.

@dbPRO2 жыл бұрын
Can I automate transposition in studio one? Tried to look this up and the only answers i found were no but the answers were really old and I don't know if studio one has added this feature since then. if not they really need to add it, kind of dumb that something so simple and native to most daw's isn't in this one.

I think the sidechain on the EQ is to retrieve information from another pro EQ and then being able to make dynamic EQ. But sadly I never learnt how to do. If someone knows, I would like to duck down some frequencies of my bass when my kick kicks in.
@fogvarious24782 жыл бұрын
Most just use a compressor and change the ratio etc to suit to how it's pushing the lesser sound out of the way

Sidechain for the EQ, could be useful for looking at Kickdrum FR but apply the cuts to the Bass?
@SteveWatsonMusic2 жыл бұрын
Really great runthrough, as usual, Joe! Thank you for all you do. Boring question here, but wondering if anyone knows if there is a similar feature to control the Q for trackball mouses (since the trackball doesn't have a wheel?)
@bassyey2 жыл бұрын
My trackball have a wheel so. But anyway, your trackball might have a software, you can usually set a button to hold then the ball becomes a wheel. Check it out.

I love Studio One. I wouldn't change for another DAW. But honestly, the ProEQ lacks many features... Like dynamic options. For $30 I got the Waves F6 which is by far more versatile. Sorry to sound harsh (pun) but Studio One needs to update its Eq and add a real de-esser... Got to also grab the Waves de-esser Sibilance... Hope they will update few of their plugins in version 6....

Bro how to solo a band in studio one EQ plugin
@atashbeats80552 жыл бұрын
For future update, we need m/s and dynamic feature on this eq.
@martinmole57412 жыл бұрын
I would use the Equalizer 4 from Toneboosters.It's a lot better, has dynamic bands and m/s. It costs just €29.00.

why do you go all the way to the high with a low frequency to get a whistly sound to be found. and not use high frequency 2-5 OR 10khz . THX 4 the vid. (google tranl. i'm dutch)

I'm guessing it's just so you can see the frequency analysis of another track while EQ-ing. It's not a side-chain compression thing or anything like that. - Joe Gilder

The Pro EQ2 usefulness is seriously limited by the slope, 48 dB max, and even @48 dB, it's not as steep as Live's EQ. Big slopes are useful for low cut, high cut as well as removing resonances.
@roeilevi45942 жыл бұрын
i still think it needs solo option for bands,but still great plugin
@mixprofmix2 жыл бұрын
We need more slope, m/s mode on ProEQ2. Also need ProEQ2 Dynamic
@Sundaydrumday2 жыл бұрын
I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY IT DOESNT HAVE A SOLO BAND OPTION, THIS WOULD BE THE BEST EQ MADE IF IT HAD THAT , SOMETIMES ITS NICE TO SOLO THE Bands and check for crackles or distortion, and with pro eq i cant do that, i find myself reaching for others or paying for something else, this eq is super awsome, please add a solo option, or if there is one and i have missed it, please tell me how too lol

Does anyone else have the Pro EQ bug where it doesn't save your default visual state (my default was FFT curve but anytime I load Pro EQ, it opens in 12th octave while showing that FFT curve is selected)?

Change it the way you want it to open, then click the icon next to the presets, and click "Store as Default Preset".
