Robin Gibb and Blue Weaver wrote the Hit Song Hold on to my love for the Legendary Motown Singer Jimmy Ruffin around (1980) the song Reached number 7# in the UK Charts. Plus on that very same album Jimmy sang duet with Marcy Levy called Where do I go❤🎶🎵

Marcy would have a #1 hit 11 years later with 'Stay' from Shakespears Sister.

Heartboy1031 And from what I gather, it was one of the few songs she actually did sing on for them. Siobhan Fahey was a bit stingy with the limelight, even though Marcy’s been around way longer.

@brooke9218 The "Times Square" soundtrack has got to be one for the ages. The musical lineup was a rock-n-roll tour de force. All the cutting-edge artistes (New Wave, Punk,etc.) were well represented. Now, I'm not one of the one's who are going to wax sentimental about pre -Gulianini Times Square--having seen it for myself--or speculate about the lesbian subtext in the movie, but I do know I got a blast out of it, and the still-young Tim Curry was hot as hell as the rebel DJ.

Good song from an awesome movie with one of the all time best soundtracks. But I have to agree - it was a good ending song for the movie, but it really didn’t fit with the rest of the Times Square soundtrack. Sleeze Sisters!!!!!
@genericgeorge13 жыл бұрын
If you listen to the commentry of Times Square from Robin Johnson & Allan Moyle they aint real taken with this song. Moyle describes it as 'lame' and Robin makes a few noises to display her distaste. This is a good song in it's own right though it doesnt fit in with the movie at all.

Well this was the tail end of RSO's reign. The year this movie was released, the Bee Gees filed a lawsuit that would have destroyed the label completely if it had succeeded. The next year, the late Sir Robert Stigwood stepped down from his own company, and after that, it was only the Bee Gees and the "Star Wars" soundtracks that saved them from a quick death...
@pinz202212 жыл бұрын
I gotta admit. That song did not fit in with the rest of the album. Pure bubblegum. Don't get me wrong. I loved it, but I knew it did not fit in with the counterculture zeitgeist. As the last scene in the movie, however, it ended the picture on a high note.

Loved the movie "Times Square". This is a great song that both didn't fit and did fit the soundtrack.
