I just completed the Mojave Trail with a all stock 99 with street Michelins. My biggest issue was the exhaust and rear subframe catching rocks. I got real good at driving on the edge to keep from hanging up. It even climbed that rutted up section on the other side of Fort Piute with no problems. Thanks for the ideas on the lift.

I'm doing a 1" front lift and 1.5" rear on my 99. Do you think I will need the Truhart camber arms for the rear, and will the regular Truhart front control arms work, or will I need their lifted arms?
@chayneyshuck55033 жыл бұрын
What size tires is that? Nevermind I found it in the comments lol my bad.
@SeanRademeyer3 жыл бұрын
Great looking CR-V 👌🏻 Just want to make sure I’m understanding the purpose here; the lift kit raises the whole car higher off the ground (so you gain ground clearance), but then the subframe drop lowers the underside of the car again, which results in your body being higher off the ground, so your approach, departure and break over angles are better, but you didn’t really gain any ground clearance now?
@crv_tom3 жыл бұрын
Basically what's happening is you lifting the body up (4in in my kit) but you need to drop the subframe down or back down a little so that the axles aligned and the steering rack with no issues you're only dropping that down a inch and a half the CR-V already comes with pretty decent ground clearance so it's not too big of a worry but you're allowing the body Thule Tire also creating more flex room for the wheel at least as much as these suspensions can do
@SeanRademeyer3 жыл бұрын
@@crv_tom So am I correct in saying then that, if you only lift the body by 2.5" (and not 4" like in your case), you don't have to drop the subframe again?
@crv_tom3 жыл бұрын
Yep you would be good to go there anything about 3in you will want to do a subframe drop although for 2 and 1/2 you were still going to want to do a trailing arm spacer
@SeanRademeyer3 жыл бұрын
@@crv_tom Awesome! Thanks for the info!

You also can run bigger tires, which give you more ground clearance.

Why didn’t you go with NAPA axles all around? Also, why didn’t you go with HRG full kit? I do agree HRG does look better while HRG minimal components does look more OEM. The bling also comes with a price tag tho 😂

All the parts that come with the kit are listed on the website at hrgengineering.com

Great CRV, but had a few questions about the HRG site. I’m new to modifying cars, and the subframe drop kit only comes for the 97-01 CRV, as well as the lift kit being for the Element. Do all the parts still work properly in a 2004 CRV or would I need to look elsewhere? If so, where do you recommend?
@crv_tom4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what's going on with his website I did see some things were kind of messed up I think hes working on fixing knows but yes if he offers a kit for that make and model it will work just make sure it's for your make and model you won't be able to use other kits without modifying them.

Any suggestions on a head? I want a lil more power pick up. Nonetheless you have inspired me to lift my Crv about 2 weeks ago. I used truhart “lift” coilovers. But decided that I should prob get a refurbished head to make sure this car will last me a lil while I am going to dump large amounts of money into it. I heard this my CRV ex has a b20 engine and you can find vtech heads for the suckers. I know that the v tech kicks in at higher rpms so I am not sure if it is worth it (only on the highway, I guess, i don’t have a led foot around town)

Definitely look for a B16 or a B18 GSR head they would be very nice upgrade for the CR-V just make sure you get the kit and everything you need and it would be a nice swap and you would need the righty see you preferably one with hondata s-300 so that way you could tune it a little bit you would be happy in the long run if you did that trust me

But when it does come time to upgrade I would definitely recommend the viscous coupler and a custom driveshaft and a element differential or eliminate the dual pump set up in the stock death and do the HRG clutch disk and that would definitely be a sick set up
