Marduk doesn’t waste any time. Hundreds of tours, get back to studio, record, another album, tour again, write more music. I’ve been a fan since 2002 when I was 15 and still listen to them. Honestly like I said, Morgan never rest, always busy with the band!

Very good interview. You can see and hear that Morgan quickly realizes that this is not the usual blabla interview with boring questions he heard million times. When he´s bored he usually switches to long monologs talking about touring and standard answers, but here its a nice back and forth. And seeing him joking and smiling about his age, now thats quite unique.

Great interview, Jerry! I've been looking forward to this one from Steelfest and you didn't disappoint! Morgan never minces his words... Marduk's creative control over the band means they rarely (if ever) need to compromise their sound, message, and so forth. So awesome to see a new interview from Morgan at last! I talked to him for a few minutes in back of a now defunct establishment in Northern Virginia back around 2013 or so for the Serpent Sermon tour. He is definitely an imposing presence, but also a cool guy to talk to. I imagine he is one of the hardest working guys in metal, seems like his tour schedule is more like a tour life than a tour schedule, and they're always working on something. I saw Mayhem play at the same venue and Marduk drew probably three times the people and did three times the show in intensity.

@RautaMetal5 жыл бұрын
Ah, it pains me to explain this over and over again, but here it goes: our main camera woman got sick and with her went the hand mike etc. We got to do this intie 2.30 in the morning so it was either to be done with our secondary camera set (which didn't have proper mic, since he wasn't meant to record this interview in the first place). So, we had to options: to do Marduk without proper mic and understand there would be bad sound quality or not do it at all. I thought it was worth the gamble. I am planning other options with mikes, but really couldn't see this shit coming. As for Rauta, there's at the moment zero budget for new microphones.

Strange that "La Grande Danse Macabre" is my least favurite and together with "Dark Endless". But it is a way of self setting ansd taste what YOU need and want to hear, what fits you well. It's like with shoes or clothes = you simply don't put on ones that you don't feel like you're yourself. And when you choose MARDUK it's like food = you need it but there is plenty of menu to choose which the "master chef" Morgan prepared and served over the years. ;)

Very good interview as it is always pleasant to listen to Morgan's thoughts. I am always curious what is this man about to say and drag on the light from the past. Also it was very nice to heat that he is in touch with old members like Andreas "Dread" Axelsson, Joakim "Av Grav" Göthberg and Roger "B.War" Svensson. Also I think that he is in touch with Lars Brodesson and Devo Andersson as Lars had worked with Mortuus on last two Funeral Mist's albums "Hekatomb" and "Deiform" which are absolute killers. But one thing about this interview and that is echo and sound. Sometimes I simply don't understand what is the speech about. 😢
