the music combined with the image reminds me of my childhood in brandenburg, germany. my dad used to have a little cabin out by a little lake, and i would spend countless summers playing beneath the trees, swimming in the lake or hiking with my dad. we dont speak much anymore these days, i hardly even know the guy anymore, but watching this video brings me back just a little bit. thank you for that.

This just makes me think "we could be anything, and we choose to be this." Profoundly depressing. In a good way.
@macaroon1472 жыл бұрын
Maybe because we can't be anything? But we can imagine ourselves as anything. And that depresses us. Because if we were actually that, what sacrifices would we make to get there. Would we be happy at the end? Maybe who we are now is all we need to be everything. Because aren't we already anything? Aren't we already everything? Aren't we already enough?

It depends on how you look at it. At the end of the day you'd already chosen, but that may be not entirely bad. And yet you can still choose again, right now. Even if it seems pointless or too late for that now, whatever was or is your selection, you can make it matter, somehow. You can give it meaning, and make something new out of it. Maybe we choose to be something good, maybe not so much. But at least now you have the perspective to understand the matter of your own choices, and how it affects everyone, including the ones you love. It may be depressing in terms of making an unrepairable mistake or something like that, but at least now you understand it and you can make something to amend it if posible. Something to fix that mistaken choice, at least in yourself. In case you made a mistaken choice you don't feel proud of. At the very least you can gain the peace of a new perspective if you fight for it or if seek for it properly. Whatever is your choice, what makes it really count, I think, is your perspective on it.

this for me isn't just musical talent. an average joe that takes music classes and that knows how to play instruments can't make this. this is just so much more profound than that. there's so much depth to this, even though there's no lyrics and it's extremely repetitive, but the way you've managed to not only capture that feel of aphex twin's original piece and transform it into something that was made by you, something extremely personal that expresses that tiny amount of who you are, and maintain that same atmosphere and almost the same meaning that the original song had to me, only with that little twist that came from you. this is a very beautiful thing, it's very hard to explain and express what this means and I've been staring at the screen for a few minutes thinking of what to say but I felt like I just had to say something. it's very tough and very weird to explain not only how but why something as simple as this is meaningful to me as it is, but it is. thank you for this.

Thank you for summing it up beautifully. You may also like the stone in focus recording on here that's pretty popular and includes the noises coming in from outside into the guys room. Birds, children playing in a school and a plane etc. Do you know the one I mean?

I’m high as fuck. And one of my favorite things to do while stoned is listening to #3 aka “Rhubarb”. It brings me so much joy and… even some power and belief. Feels like I’m traveling through my wildest and simplest dreams, through my hopes for the future and sometimes through my melancholy past. I’ve never cried while listening to this masterpiece of ambient. Only warm and positive emotions. From time to time it feels like this music gives me memories I’ve never had. Cannot explain it in other words. Those who know, know… Thanks Mr. Aphex Twin for sharing magic with us. A true artist. And this cover is the best I’ve ever listened to. Guitars are amazing! That’s exactly what I need on a starry night. And now I’m back for traveling through my mind and all the things I can think of, remember and dream…

you've really managed to capture the essence of what I believe Aphex created so aptly. A sense of passing time, an in-between place between two great chasms. Maybe that's what life is. Maybe that's what this song is. Thank you.

"the world is like a ride at an amusement park and when you choose to go on it, you think it's real, because that's how powerful our minds are, and the ride goes up and down and round and round, it has thrills and chills and it's very brightly colored and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question, "is this real, or is this just a ride?" and other people have remembered and they come back to us and they say "hey! don't worry, don't be afraid, ever! this is just a ride!" and we...kill those people! "shut him up! we got a lot invested in this ride, shut him up! look at my furrows of worry, look at my big bank account and my family! this just has to be real!" it's just a ride...but we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, ever notice that? and let the demons run amok...but it doesn't matter, because...it's just a ride...and we can change it any time we want, it's only a choice, no effort, no work, no job, no savings of money, a choice, right now, between fear and love. the eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, buy guns, close yourself off, the eyes of love, instead see all of us as one" - Bill Hicks

@replikat4314 Жыл бұрын
its the name of an audio device brand "Aphex systems limited". accoring to aphex twin when he was looking for a name he took that and added the "twin" onto it.
