We have a 1.8 hybrid C-HR who comes after gen 1 Juke (1.6 petrol CVT). I love the new Juke look, but the small 1.2 is not as refined and efficient as the Toyota hybrid, interior looks a bit more fresh on the Juke but offers less space on the rear. And the C-HR ages very well and is very reliable, so we'll keep the C-HR.

My wife and I ( I mean I) are seriously considering the C-HR. I think the design is absolutely amazing. Yes the blind spot and rear view may not be great but I think that one gets used to it. Another small issue is the lack of boot space due to the battery placement. Yes that may come in handy on the rare occasion but more space is definitely of more use. Strange there’s no rear AC or charging units but that can easily be fixed with a double charging port in the middle hand rest compartment and putting the vents towards the center. I don’t mind the smaller windows and quite like the tinted aspect. The cabin looks awesome and design is very sleek. However I think the 8inch monitor should have been lowered a bit to give more view out of the windscreen. All in all I think I feel for the C-HR at first site and it’s hasn’t disappointed. It’s just the wife will have to agree on the fact that the 2.0 litre version is a much better choice for that extra umph on the motorway. Shame they didn’t lower their price point but for a compact SUV that is made by the most reliable manufacturers I don’t think you can go wrong.

I would choose the Nissan Juke as I have been driving nissan cars since 1994 but I think Nissan has messed up with the engine aspect of it. It is good around town but as soon as you enter a faster road, it struggles to keep up with the traffic. I had it for a weekend to test it out, it's a shame as the car is a great car but if I had to choose between the CH-R and the Juke, I would have to choose the CH-R as the engine and the engine choice is much better.

Thank you for your review! Can you explain what traffic sign recognition does and why is it useful to the driver? (pardon my ignorance)
@MarekDrives3 жыл бұрын
It's a camera-based system, which reads basic traffic signs, like speed limits and road types, and displays appropriate information for the driver to be aware of the situation. Sometimes you may not notice a speed limit or pass so many different ones that you simply forget, which is the current one. This also includes road type information like dual carriageway vs. motorway (these are different types of roads in Poland with different speed limits), or special residential zones with lower speed limits. Additionally the system can be supplemented by data stored in the navigation maps. So even if the camera doesn't read a sign for some reason, there is backup information in the sat nav.

Here in Europe we're pretty much forced to buy cars with small engines or hybrids, as EVs are still expensive and in short supply (even more so, as the pandemic affected battery production). Mazda is trying to go its own way offering 2.0 an 1.5 naturally aspirated engines with diesel-like compression ratio, but even they had to 'castrate' their engines, and instead of offering the best of both worlds they offer the worst of petrols and diesels.
@kevinn11584 жыл бұрын
@@MarekDrives Mazda had to castrate their engine? You mean reduce the emissions by reducing the compression? I have to say, if I was shopping in this category the CX-3 CX-30 would be high on the list to test. They have uncluttered, clean designs.

To bold design group I would also add Citroën C3 Aircross/C4 Cactus and Peugeot 2008/3008. Neither french car has AWD/4WD or hybrid option, but has traction control system for various terrains.
