I would've liked if you chose some other Sonic game instead of Mania, because there's honestly like 20+ other tracks in the Sonic series that I think are better than the track you chose. Also the track at 42:33 is originally from The Witch's House, not the MV version (aka the bad version)

We poppin the biggest bottles when one of these “guess the viddy game music” videos ive been binging has Kirby music that isn’t Gourmet Race, Green Greens, or Dedede’s theme. Where is Sand Canyon, Sky Tower, C-R-O-W-N-E-D? Milky Way Wishes map, Kirby + Kirby, Warrior from Another World(or any iteration of Galacta Knights theme tbh)? Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit, Hilltop Chase, Another Domination? Infiltrate the Junk Factory(not to be confused with Factory Inspection but that would also be a great entry for a list like these), World of Drawcia, Bug-Eyed Foes? Lots of choices that range from winks at people who have been in proximity to the games to tracks that regular fans might not remember or recognize. Much more fun than just using music from old and/or obscure games as a cheap gotcha.

Thanks for reminding me of these songs. I'll definitely use some in future quizzes, but people keep telling me there are a lot of nintendo games. And if it's not nintendo, they're cursing old "obscure" games, lol. Maybe we Europeans have a taste for weird games and weird music compared to the rest of the world. Or I'm weird, who knows :)

@DarkLxrd It's not weird to like obscure games or feature them, ha. I was just salty since I'm the type to like a few franchises and stick with them rather than really striving for variety. I think people forget that a lot of "Nintendo" games aren't JUST Nintendo. Pokémon and Kirby are Gamefreak and HAL Laboratories games too, for example. And even if they were all Nintendo it's not like they have the same composers for every game in every franchise! No reason to write them off as somehow less valid, especially when it comes to the OSTs.

Nice selection of music! 33:38 Note that this theme is specififc for the SNES version of the first Civilization. The main theme of the original PC version is a completly different theme. But using the main theme of the lesser known version of the game definitly fits the "unfair" category.

Yeah, this main theme of Civilization is only SNES version. It is less known, but for me more iconic and better composed than the PC version. Glad you know this gem. Quite a few players know Civilization VI and Sogno di Volare, but not the earlier Civilizations at all.

I grew up with this series and played all six of them (and also Alpha Centauri and Beyond Earth). Yes, most people only know VI or maybe V, but my favourite Civs are II and IV (with the great Baba Yetu as main theme)

Bro this list was unnecessarily difficult I only got 22.5 points out of, what, hundreds of total points probably? Other people in comments have already mentioned this. The list seems to be dominated by action-adventures and shooters which then become progressively either more niche or old. RTS and MMO among other genres are not represented well. The hard and unfair ones are just obscure games that almost nobody's ever heard of rather than being surprising picks from relatively well-known titles that we could at least have a rough chance at guessing.

Got Persona, Professor Layton, James Bond, Age of Empires (played the crap out of this series as a kid), Ryu ga Gotoku, Pokémon, Alan Wake (gotta follow my countrymen's work), Fire Emblem and Octopath Traveler... so 18 points. Wonder which "difficulty" the Monster Truck Madness main theme would fall under? I still recognize that theme after 28 years. ...Or Dark Prison from Super Robot Wars for that matter (the SRW fandom always recognizes it and often reacts with "FFFUUUUU-"; the mecha pilot whose theme this is can blow up the solar system in a single hit... and then he switches sides).
