A child is not fully developed. They lack the maturity to make mature and well thought out decisions. A CHILD SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO MAKE SUCH DRASTIC AND PERMANENT CHOICES. they are unaware of everything that comes along with the transition process. Transitioning is not simply waking up after surgery and being their desired gender. The medical complications, the physical and mental trauma is grueling. I dont understand how, even when it's put on the screen, people are missing the point. *There is no way you can compare a tomboy phase with transitioning!* The two aren't even remotely connected, and so why Brittany brought transitioning up in the first place is baffling. But then to imply that being trans is just a phase? That's pretty harsh and damaging if you're trans. When I was a kid I would wear my Mum's high heals. It was a phase I grew out of. I spent a lot of time with my Mum and I wanted to be the kind of person she was - kind, loving, caring, supportive and so incredibly strong. I didn't feel that I was in the wrong body and never have. I'm not trans and I didn't suffer from gender dysphoria. My Mum, however, was a tomboy when she was a kid, and likewise, she grew out of that phase. She wasn't trans. The issue Cassadee and Maren, and indeed a lot of people have with Brittany's statement is that no one is changing their child's, or indeed their own gender because their child is a tomboy or dresses up girly. Being a tomboy does *not* make you trans. And being trans is definitely *not* a phase, and implying it is a phase is so damaging, it belittles those emotions, make you feel invalid, unimportant and unworthy. By comparing a phase a lot of children go through with actually transitioning, Brittany, intentionally or not, made a lot of trans men and woman feel insignificant - we've all heard stories or experienced gay and bisexual people being told "it's just a phase, you'll get over it" and that cuts deep and can cause a lot of hurt and damage. Had Brittany commented about how she feels their should be an age restriction on gender affirmation treatments then I doubt we'd have an issue. To a point I agree with some of what she has come out and said AFTER being called out. But to start out by comparing a phase with transitioning? That's the issue. It's time people stopped belittling others, it's time some people stop mouthing off about things they don't know anything about. But that change only comes when we stand together, hand-in-hand and speak up to people who put others down, and that's exactly what Cassadee and Maren did.

I personally have a gay daughter who wants to have a sex change. It's acually devastating to me because I feel like I am having a death of my daughter ig that makes sense. But I love and support her. Even my daughter knows, and strongly believes that you should not let children have sex changes. She is an adult. And an adult who has had siezures her entire life. So she is waiting until she is 27 for medical reasons. These people pushing young kids to have sex changes is so irresponsible! Most of the Trans community understands that! I often wonder how much these celebrities are getting paid to push this bullshit! I don't want my daughter to get her sex change, but if she does, I will support her. But as a parent I'm proud if her for knowing and understanding the dangers of it and being willing to stand up for truth, standing up for the innocent children who are being victimized over this bullshit. I 100% support what Brittney said! All my kids know it. I was a confused kid at one point in my life and am very thankful my mom helped guide me. I truly believe, because I'm in the mix of it all that the majority of thw Trans community understands this. I pray that they become more out spoken about the dangers of making such a life changing decision at such a young age. It's not safe, and if they have done the research lime my child has done, the chances of suicide goes through the roof. Thus is just an honest perspective from a parent going through this. I wish I could go back and not give my child a phone. But I did. That's really. Pray for our children!

Just check the coaching going on over at TikTok. Parents (and teachers!) dressing their kids in clothes they are clearly uncomfortable with, telling them what to say and chastising them for saying the "wrong" thing. It's worrying. I believe kids should be allowed to wear whatever they like, but it makes me uncomfortable to see parents pushing a trans identity on their kids against their will. Kids don't know any better and will do what their parents say, and when they are about 16 they may even fully believe it--only to detransition when they turn 22. There are thousands of stories like that if you search for them, and the hate detransitioners get from the community is frankly disgusting. Waiting until someone is of sound mind to consent to changing their gender isn't a big deal imo. I mean we are not out here allowing 12 year olds to have hysterectomies because they don't like getting a period.
