Margan Top : Deadly Road to Warwan Valley Begins! Ep 1. Jammu & Kashmir

14000 feet high Margan Top or Margan Pass connects Warwan Valley in Kishtwar District with the main Kashmir Valley. It is located south of Anantnag district in Kashmir. We started our journey from Kokernag. The road in the beginning is good with spectacular views but soon it became very narrow, with rocks tumbling down and hordes of sheeps and goats blocking the already bad road.

For those who are hikers this area can be trekked and linked up to the waran valley...it would be a great trek of about 8 days!! Thennyou dont have to drive those roads!

Did you drive your own car? Could you help how we can rent a local car (4x4) and driver to visit warwan valley ? What should be our starting point with the local driver ? like from daksum or larnoo?

@@happygotravelers Not this year. We are planning for next year july. We would be coming from kolkata, so no way we can drive our own car. Biggest challenge for us is to get hold of a good reliable local driver/ local cab operator and a sturdy 4x4 vehicle who can drive us through the small villages of warwan. Hence we were wondering if we should make kokernag or vailoo or larnoo as our base and somehow reach there and then start with the local driver from there.

@priyankomukherjee9677 Wonderful! Make Kokernag your base. JKTDC huts within the garden. Excellent stay option. Explore the gardens of Achabal, Verinag, Kokernag. See our video on these gardens.
