According to Red Letter Media that's the dump month for shitty movies the studios think won't work the rest of the year. Of course thanks to Shanghai Shivers we may very well get the good films that the studios would've normally released throughout the year. So it very much could be a Christmas in January at least for quality film releases in theaters. That is the theaters that are still in business.
