Imagine the composure, the confidence, the eloquence from you Margaret Odera. You are more than ever ready to do anything possible to serve your community. You are the best CHW I have ever known, I attest to it you are the best to lead us right and bring us out of the mess CHWs have been into for many years. Together we can achieve it?

Thanks Margaret and congratulations for devoting your life to serve the community.Am also a community health volunteer and yes there is alot of challenges down here because we have the willingness to serve but we don't have the resources.. Sometimes we even lack facilitations as far as finances to enable us reach the vulnerable at their houses. We also lack protective gears because safety must start with us.So as a CHW advocate,my request is that the chvs and chws to be financed and equipped for them to deliver the services effectively.Thankyou

Thaxmts agreat inspiration Comrade Maggy. Just on top or what you have highlighted,Recognition. Alone can't pay our bills and also take our children to school as well as cater for our medical bills. On short we need full implementation and improvement of Nairobi community health service Act 2019. The challenge we face in the field demands even risk allowance in addition to salary and not stipends. Together we can Let's connect our struggles well. Vivaaaa

Thanks Margaret for your good work plus your words. Most of us CHVs are on the same challenges. We are the ground health people to the community and mostly we are not recognised by most of our seniors they mostly treat us we have needs and as if we are there to help them to the next level of their promotions. But CHVs with the God's help, we don't give up. Our work to the community is God's given. Me and my 15 CHVs have been working for the community for over 14 years and with the help of our loving God we are ready to keep serving our communities. Thank Margaret for opening up the CHVs chart forum, keep up the good work. Thank, kamau Mbugua from limuru central kiambu.

Community health workers like Margaret Odera have shown they're a crucial component of pandemic response, and for reaching more people with essential health services, including HIV services and vaccines. Although community health workers and other frontline health workers are often praised for being heroes, policymakers must remember they are human beings, and need and deserve to have protection, safe working conditions, and fair and on-time pay. Margaret says (and sings) it best. She's a powerful advocate and communicator, as we can see here in her interview, interaction with her clients and fellow health workers, out in her community, and on stage.

We are not supposed to volunteer for 34 years . If there is no law that governs volunteers ,it should be passed.
