Margaret's take down of this insipid show is pure genius. However, the enduring popularity of this program and it's impact on popular culture has less to do with this attention seeking, talent devoid excuse of a family and more to do with us as a society. Simply put, they are still part of the social conversation because the general public lap.this shit up. Reality tv exist because there is a demand for this. Out of ten folks, for every three that hate this garbage, seven others soak it all in. I truly think that a big part of the reason why many young people want to be like this family is because they feel like you don't need to be smart or possess some talent to headline a show and be famous. The Kardashians have shown to the whole world that minimal effort, lack of intelligence or acting like a somewhat decent human being with an ounce of humility is not a requirement for being rich and famous. Bring self absorbed, ignorant, having a camera crew capture every pointless interaction and contributing nothing of value on the other hand can AND does get you places.

I'm a huge fan of Margaret Pomeranz but her contempt is misplaced, it should be directed toward the people who actually watch the rubbish they serve up. Criticise them all you want but at the end of the day its made them all billionaires! The Kardashian's are laughing at us, not the other way around.
