Great lesson. I am a beginner, and this was the most complete explanation of a song I have heard.

That’s great! Happy to hear that.

This is just brilliant. I'm learning this song with my Ukulele group and am very much the beginner, but this gives me heaps of confidence. Thank you so much for sharing your skills and knowledge.

Oh my favorite Jimmy Buffett song. Can you do more of his songs?

I walk around town while playing my ukulele. I got stopped at a crosswalk and started bobbing around like Jack Black when he was playing Highway To Hell in School of Rock. Some 60 year old guy walks up and tells me if I played Jimmy Buffett people would totally start throwing money at me. (I'm a RN and make pretty okay money. I'm not playing at street corners for income.) I tell him I don't know any J.B., and right now I'm playing some AC/DC. He tells me "Anyone who wants to hear AC/DC is broke or in prison." So, here I am learning Jimmy Buffet, so I can make the over 60 crowd in Oregon happy.

I love AC/DC on the ukulele for what it’s worth, check out or Back in Black tutorial, full on riff power.

This was posted 8 years ago. Can you please do a Jimmy Buffett playlist of "The Big 8" (his eight hit songs that he called "the big 8") like you've done for Jack Johnson, Bob Marley, and other artists? And maybe throw in "Son of Son of a Sailor" for good measure. Please!

Question when you do the three note part D A G do you continue with the DU UPU on the G or switch to A after the single G. When you play it seems you continue with the G but you in the instructions you seem jump to the A after the single down on the G. Seems to sound better continuing with a DU UDU on the G after a short pause. Hope this makes sense.

Right on Tyler, this is great for uke clubs. Thanks for doing this. BTW, do you what are the two little riffs that happen at the A chord and D chord at this part: But I [A]know…[G] it's nobody's [Dx2]fault… ?
@TenThumbsProductions8 жыл бұрын
No, I wish. But they are probably some little lick in D major, or something in D major would suffice to make up like a supplement riff.
@GrumpyTy34er7 жыл бұрын
Well, I got frustrated because my strings on my soprano ukulele are not spaced correctly and my hands are large so the D chord is hard but but thank you

When plucking with 2 fingers do you pluck each string up or one finger on each string
@TenThumbsProductions4 жыл бұрын
I have found each finger up on each string to be easier and get a better sound, I use my index and middle finger.

Thanks for this! If you're feeling like some more Jimmy Buffett, you should tackle Volcano at some point. Or, better yet, how does Poor People Store by Shinyribs sound? They do some nice closeups of what he's doing in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/eajVl6Nom6aSn5o

Paul Voyles Thanks for the tips Paul. I had a roommate in college that would go to all his concerts and dress up like a salt shaker. Have you ever seen one of his shows? I heard they are crazy.
@apaullo21159 жыл бұрын
TenThumbs Productions He actually comes down here sometimes, but I've never been able to make it. I do know from other people that he gets drunk within the first half hour and ends up making up a lot of stuff as he goes. I've seen the Ribs twice though, and if you ever get the chance you should definitely see their show. Kevin Russell is amazing live. Nothing like a funky sax version of No Diggity or hearing Hendrix on a uke.
