Vidwan Palghat Ramaprasad commented on the goal of Karnataka Sangitam as Bhakti-devotion in the form of Keertana, praising prayers of ritualistic worship. Why ignoring all the Vaggeyakaras, composers Kruthis, including Thyagaraja, on both the psychological and social perceptions both the individual and the collective awareness and messages of self-witness, self-reflections and self-realization. Karnataka Sangitam is Art form and it's practitioners and students Bhakti-not to the ritualistic religion, to the verily the Art form shouldn't be devalued or even ignored. The relationship is the relationship betwen Vedas, Brahmasutra and the Upanishads-the first two are for the promotion of faith, trust in the beliefs, following and support to the popular authorities. The Upanishads are for the Seeker in search for the Ultimate truth and reality, unconditioning from the Knowledge of Vedas and other Scriptures. I was listening to the tuning of the "Lali" lyrics of "Devaki Kanda Mukunda". First it is not Lali lyrics of Purandara Dasa and the second raga selection for lali is questionable. Vidwan offered sampradaya music presenting raga-sahithya-laya bhavam of his sadhana sampath and delivery. All the accompanying Vidwans ably supported Palghat Ramaprasad making a success of a concert. Akka seems to be point TMK vagera gang. If there is no Bhakti there is no Bhakti music. Bhakti is an attempt to total surrender and do things without aganharam. Some spoilt privileged fellow cannot understand it.
