Hi Ben. Have been looking for a margin pole for a while now (novice angler just getting back into fishing) and have (or rather had) narrowed it down to either the PI Response Margin (think it’s better than the Edge based on your previous reviews) v the MTX Margin. Was going to choose the MTX, but have been delayed from purchasing as they are no where to be seen at the moment. However, you’ve just blown my mind with yet another fantastic review. Whilst not primarily wanting a pole for dragging in any monsters (don’t fish commercials), I’m more keen on getting a margin pole for the ruggedness due to my inexperience with handling poles. How do my two choices fair up against these under review here. I’m now considering going down the M2 or possibly the M3 route instead. Stay safe buddy and keep up the good work.

Yes Russ the M2 is special for £200 I'm filming the review tomorrow

So i just bought a Map M600 - 6 metre margin, I have found that the M1 is just too short at 4 metres plus top kits (when available) are 40+ quid a throw, just not worth it. The m600 also fits the top kits of the Middy M3 which I also have. So I use the Middy M3 (13 metre version) for places like Barston or Willows and alongside rods - and I use the Map M600 alongside my Matrix main pole for all commercials snakes etc. I think for me this is the perfect set up and all bases covered, I just hope the M3 top kits fit the Map tks m600.

Good review, especially seeing them held up. The Middy m2 looks great value and I understand MAP, Browning, Maver kits all fit the number 4. Daiwa overpriced, who would have thought it!!!
@Angling4U2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't have the Daiwa for me m2 best there for the money m2 & m1 just arrived yesterday I'm out on the bank with them tomorrow. Feel free to join us Paul. Where at Oak Tree Fishery. from 8am.

It dose come down to sitting with them as balance is different depending on person. But Middy are on fire atm with there poles especially.

Great video as normal ben I've been debating weather for the middy m2 or preston edge monster I know the preston do the side pullers but do the middy ones do the same and if so are the packages pretty much the same?
@Angling4U2 жыл бұрын
M2 is pre fitted with big side slots video on it is up Saturday. Preston is a great pole but m2 is better in my opinion

@@Angling4U thanks for your reply well I'm not looking for one just to catch big carp but just reasonable carp but also silvers to so I'm not going to be putting big elastics in it so can you still put thinner elastic in one of the kop kits?

Great video mate im currently in the market for a margin pole sort of got it narrowed down to either the map 1001 or the drennan acolyte pro margin but the m3 does look good would you take the 1001 over the drennan, cheers mate keep up the great vids.

If its just those then 1001 bud but my opinion

The Matrix MTX Margin deserves a mention. Under 300 quid. 3 Bushed and roller top kits included. It's light, like a poker and absolutely bullet proof. Check out Jamie Hughes video with the Matrix Margin. He gives it some stick. I set up my MTX margin side by side with my MTX3. At 8.7 metres and both fitted with Ultra power kits. These are the kits that come with the MTX3. I defy anyone to say which one is the better pole at that length. There is virtually nothing in it. If anything, the MTX3 is a smidgen lighter but the Margin is better balanced, which makes it feel lighter and more stable. The confidence that the margin is much stronger is a massive plus. If I am fishing at that length. The MTX3 will stay in the bag.
@Angling4U2 жыл бұрын
Yeah just reviewing what they had there. But MTX margin is good

Comparing on price doesn't quite work. My white knuckle thriller came 'ready to go' whereas many of the others will need extra expenditure on elastic , Dacron , puller beads etc. Great effort at trying to give us a reasonable feel for the differences though. As you quite rightly said , you can't beat actually holding the kit .
@Angling4U2 жыл бұрын
That's only one that comes with the stuff most tackle shops would help out with knocking off stuff to elasticate. The purpose of the vid was to show items for different budgets & lengths.
@paulsugarman97532 жыл бұрын
@@Angling4U yeah I do understand what you were trying to do. I was just pointing out that you kept mentioning the money and the price of the pole often isn't the final cost. Having said that , most people watching who would be potentially buying a margin pole would probably know that anyway ... So I'll shut up and let you enjoy your day !!! 😂

I have the edge monster and the middy m2 and the m2 is far better than the edge monster. The one and only problem I have with the m2 is I can't find any spares. I wish someone could confirm if other makes of top kits fit,and fit correctly.

Morning I currently own the 8.5 edge monster after a accident with my sensas t rex pole. My lad fell in the canal trying to whip his float out to mine and I accidentally crushed the main pole section rushing over too him. It is where it says t rex 14. Are parts of pole easy to source i have tried ebay nothing there 😅
