Far less spray on Luna Rossa's outrigger. Less spray = less resistance/drag = faster.

Or, more spray could mean faster speeds...? Without knowing speed we can't draw any conclusions about efficiency. Less or more spray could be the different speeds the yachts were captured sailing at any given time.

I don't think it is quite as simple as that i am no expert but i assume keeping the ideal sail orientation and shape with regards to sea state and wind velocity will transfer different loads to the rudder and foils causing more or less spray.

​@@jamesaron1967 I would assume so but I just re-watched the 29th and 30th day recaps and all jibes. The only reason I am interested is because it is much more difficult to tack a foiling boat and stay on the foils. Would like to see how the boats/teams compare. EDIT: I found alighi doing a tack on the 29th video (7:25) and they fell off the foils.

@@player101snoop I understand the concerns. The problem is we don't know based on the scant footage this channel is uploading. You need to search for longer videos of the training sessions. They are out there but not easy to find.

When they first see the kiwi boat ,I think they will all be in the sheds for a while trying to make there boats faster,they are in for a shock ,from what I've seen in Auckland NZ,Believe me the KIWIS are fast in all weather

Agree ETNZ pushed Taihoro through many different sea states whilts out and about, where as the teams currently in Europe have not delivering ETNZ that edge....and yes wait until y'all, see what speed Taihoro shows 'beating against the wind', let alone the speed when 'running before the wind'.

How can you tell what the wind strength was for each footage? Description even says it was shifty etc. Footage proves nothing...the racing will tell.

The boats will look quicker when the camera is closer, it's called perspective I wouldn't take much from these videos.

@@barneyrubble9309 sure I get that Barney, but she still looks good and has done so in all the footage and ineos likewise hasn’t impressed yet, but early days and new rudder on ineos will improve her no doubt. Looking forward to the tension building as the regatta draws closer.

@@brucesherborne408 INEOS looked great in recent videos when the wind wasn't marginal. F. Bruni from the LR interview said that both yachts dropped off their foils in these conditions. To be perfectly honest I couldn't tell much difference. I think what viewers seem to be perceiving is the hull size/shape differences between the yachts. LR looks sleek because _she is sleek._ INEOS, on the other hand, is a heftier yacht. No matter how she sails she isn't going to grant he same impression of speed, but that's only perception.

Lot of tosh talked on here fact is Ineos is very fast in all wind conditions read the daily recon reports that attest to this fact not speculation
