I'm a beginner so I apologize for what may come across as a dumb question, but could you explain further what the offset filter does? is the number of pixels chosen for the offset arbitrary? and how many times should I offset in either direction to check for seams in the texture? This is a very helpful video and I'm looking forward to learning more from your videos
@ArtruismDigital4 жыл бұрын
I off set the texture to see the edge of the texture when it's not a tile able texture yet. Off set as many times as you need to until all seams are gone. In general two times will do it.

Hi Chun Chun and thank you so much for your mini-course! Your workflow looks very elaborated with its minimum set of nodes and repeatable patterns of there usage. It seems to be really effective for the daily usage. Thanks again for sharing it! Just a little question: do I understand correctly that the using of Painter's procedurals is more familiar and comfortable for your than a set of similar tools in the Mari Extension Pack?
@ArtruismDigital4 жыл бұрын
Painter is more build for procedure, Mari is more built for painting and projection.
@veasnasara3 жыл бұрын
Hi Can you let me know what the difference between substance painter and Mari
@MeshmenStudio3 жыл бұрын
painter and mari are kind of similar but originally made for different propose, one comes from games, painter and one from VFX mari. Mary traditionally could handle massive assets and udims where painter have watched up a bit, but i would not texture a 1000 udim asset in it any time soon. Painter have layers only, where mari have layers and also nodes when painting.

Good evening, I have a question for you. Where can I find an asset of a quality similar to the one you show in the exercise? I don't want to waste time modeling something like that. Is it possible to acquire assets of that quality and theme?
@ArtruismDigital4 жыл бұрын
i got it from turblesquid, they got many asset for a wide range of prices.

Hi, just one doubt : won't content aware fill in photoshop lead to blurred patches in the texture? And eventually problems when creating normal maps and stuff?
@ArtruismDigital4 жыл бұрын
In my experience, the slight blurring hasn't created problem for me and in VFX production we don't make normal map using diffuse so it's not an issue.
@ArtruismDigital4 жыл бұрын
We don't use normal map at all is what I meant.

@@ArtruismDigital I would suggest you to take a look at some Architectural Visualization industry forums like ronenbekerman. Now these guys render clean but quite realistic product/architectural visualization images. And they also use top-notch scanned textures for efficiency. I think a good thing to keep mind is to blend knowledge from different industries.
