@Oona Craig Actually I read an article in Vanity Fair years ago and it was stated factually that she was eight months pregnant living in switzerland and Onassis was coming to see her! She didn't want him to see her with the pregnancy weight so she had her doctor induce the labor! Her son was born but he was of a lower birth weight and died months later! It was concluded that her having induced the labor before full term, some babies are born overdue so only a good doctor, hers wasn't in my opinion, will induce labor for medical reasons! For years people thought he forced her to have an abortion and she was so angry with him for marrying Jackie and losing her son I think she wanted the world to believe that because she never corrected that rumor/lie whether she started it or not! I think she loved Onassis too much and she lost her child, her voice and a lot of her own self worth! But in the end it was all her own choice! Sad!!
@sotiriospapafragkou44222 жыл бұрын
@Oona Craig 1. Onassis never divorced Jackie. 2. Rumors of Maria being pregnant and the child dying are way before Onassis married Jackie. 3. Those rumors are more than likely false as Maria couldn’t get pregnant for medical reasons. Her first husband confirms this in an interview.

I don't think Cate Blanchett would pull off Maria Callas because she doesn't look like her at all. Cate has a pretty Northern European look. Really light blonde hair, with fair skin, and blue eyes. Maria had a Mediterranean look. Very dark brunette hair, with dark brown eyes, thick hairy eyebrows, and a peculiar nose. The makeup artist would have to do a lot of work to transform Cate Blanchett into Maria Callas. Also Maria had a particular transatlantic accent, and she was fluent in 4 languages: Greek, English, Italian and French. The amount of work to get all languages the way Maria spoke them would require an actor who is actually somewhat knowledgeable with the phonetics and pronunciation of these languages.

Would like a normal film /biopic of her rather than a docufilm which probably doesnt contain anything different from all the documentaries that have already been made. She deserves a gr8 movie of her life , finding the right actress to play this remarkable lady might prove a challenge.

A troutflycrazy If the world wide search was properly conducted I can see that happening. Very disappointing film we felt like leaving etc. A true biopic would require $$$ well spent etc. A lot of true research/ true artistic consultants. The masses would have to be convinced & there is where the true challenge would be. It's all about the almighty $$$ and also lack of interest by all the generations after Callas. A star is born mentality from the time OUR MAYA was born until her death. I have so much to say because true OPERA aficionados are much older than your average person that would want to see a true film about GOAT LA DIVINA 👑 💙. Arnold Bourbon Amaral MUSIC WITHOUT BOUNDARIES 🎹🎻🎼👱👦👴👪👫🙋🌏🌍🌎

It is amazing ... our human nature... we always want what we dont have. Perhpas this is the only reason why she said these words, ““Glory? Glory terrifies me. I would prefer to have a happy family and children and i would give up this career with pleasure. But destiny is destiny. There is no way out.” I bet, if she had family and children, she would grieve for the rest of her life for what if.... for what if she had another life, a career with her divine voice, a gift from God! Isn’t it this way for all of us? But then again, why dont we just enjoy the path we are in and let go the millions of ‘IF’s’.... once and for all. I beleive only then we all can fully live and enjoy quality of life!!! A true life!!! Without IF’s....!!! After all, no matter how many paths are in front of us every day to follow, there will be only ONE that we can actually walk in. And if for any reason you really must get off and get into another path, then just get off, and walk into another one. But no regrets. Regrets can eat you inside and take away all the meaning of life.

Когда я чувствую себя опустошенной - я слушаю Марию Каллас. Она возвращает мне жизненную силу, веру в лучшее в людях, способность к продолжению своего пути. Алмазные грани её совершенного голоса исцеляют мою раненную душу.

Lady Gaga would be a perfect choice to portray Maria Callas. Gaga has the same fiery Mediterranean beauty and temperament as Madame Callas.

1:35 The singer at the left is in such awe looking at Callas singing Casta Diva she could bow down and kiss her feet! This is true and genuine admiration right there. I so wish I too could be loved so much by another person in my life
