Certainly very stylish! But I also love the combination of beauty and the voice. So in that case I would have been very happy to see her remain at her weight about 1952. She sounded great for sure in 1955 and very slimmed down.

I love what Callas says about foch......so many non singers are obsessed with foch....yet singers themselves don't quite see it that way.
@kbhprinsesse Жыл бұрын
I presume you mean Fach? If yes, Callas is the perfect example of how important it is to respect Fach. She and others such as Caballé were in the habit of belittling Fach, saying that "once upon a time, a soprano was just a soprano", conveniently overlooking that orchestration became gradually heavier as the 19th century progressed. Light sopranos have paid the price when they took on too heavy roles, just like heavy sopranos like Callas paid the price for lightening the magnificent instrument to be able to sing lighter roles. Callas placed the voice higher to be able to sing Elvira, Lucia, Amina etc. and eventually this new position of her voice became her downfall, diminishing the range and making the voice less stable.
