Maria Grinberg plays Brahms Variations on an Original Theme, Op 21-1

Discovered this composition this morning in a live Volodos concert recording. Listened to it twice. Then listened to the Richter performance, followed by Katchen. And now Grinberg. They are all marvelous in their own right, and all Russian pianists I suddenly realised. Grinbergs reading is very clear with a full spectrum of intensity and a great tonal quality. It is a stunningly beautiful composition, typically Brahms, and one can clearly hear Schumann's voice also. Thanks for uploading. I had a remarkable morning! ❤️

Prodigiosa versión! En ella se dan la mano el impulso rítmico y la emoción absoluta. La coda adquiere en sus manos un carácter milagroso! Solo Fischer se acerca a tanta belleza!
