At 3:43 you can tell Kate is hurt by Lucy's assumptions. Yes, Kate is guarded and doesn't let Lucy in a lot, but Lucy's first instinct is to assume the worst about Kate. I could totally see Kate being someone who enjoys learning about history, going to museums, etc. Lucy doesn't think about that so she assumes Kate is only doing it for her career.

I agree. I think they all know. Ernie is just the most vocal about it and wants Lucy to know that he knows. I think the others ironically probably had an idea of what was going on even before Ernie, but they wanted to let Lucy tell them in her own time.
