Mariachi El Bronx first started as a diversion for members of the long-running punk band the Bronx. They put on charro outfits, replaced their electric guitars with trumpet, violin and other traditional instruments, and introduced their own take on Mexican folk music (with soulful vocals in English by Matt Caughthran, a singer previously known for his howl).

Hey, Mariachi El Bronx, please release this record again. I loved this album of Mariachi El Bronx, of 2009, so much and one day someone stole it from me. It was some years ago and since then I pray every day for this album to be released again - discount the exaggeration of my rhetoric, it's just a way of saying that i would love to have this CD again. It is a huge gap and a terrible lack on the market that this record has not been available for years.

They didn't change their sound. The Bronx and Mariachi El Bronx are technically two bands with the same members doing their same parts. I think they went on tour together and use The Bronx to open for Mariachi El Bronx.

I've watched this about 30 times - at first my impression was that the man in the black hat showed mercy and let him go - now I think he does shoot him and then the mariachi joins the ghosts of his gang also killed by the man with black hat - what do you think....? Watch the end part again - you'll hear a faint sound of gun shot........

Yes, and no; mariachi is sung in Spanish , it is Mexican music, but is someone who is white can sing it, then so be it. Just putting on the suit and calling it mariachi does not make it so; even as, you say it is a "fusion of punk with mariachi" it is very not mariachi. I like this group a lot and there are many creative musicians/artist/singers who creatively combine elements of different styles/genres that are so unique, as to defy classification into a genre. I would suggest a search on the tube for mariachi but you already said you don't like it. However, I can certainly (if you want) suggest some of my very favorite mariachi songs that I grew up with- the classics, if you will.
