I’m surprised no one has mentioned that this upload sounds like a mono recording. Reich’s best recordings are always presented in a highly detailed stereo mix. 🧐

Wonderful, it must take great discipline to play a piece like this. I’ve heard looped recordings, but it’s great to see what each player is doing and how the separate parts fits together. It looks like everyone is enjoying playing it - not surprised, the music is physical, like dance music. Acoustics are brilliantly clear, too. The ‘counterpoint’ pieces are my favourites of Reichs, engagingly simple but beautifully dense.

as far as i know, Reich's music needs to be played by humans. The individual parts are not straight repetitions for a looper. Yes, great discipline and reading chops.

LOVE : I think this piece of music has inspired "Baby be mine" from Michael Jacson - where is this slow-down.

Wow, I have been waiting for a re-play of this song for 10 years or so. Are the two main-players Wife-and-Husband? And some of the performers Your children? -- I ask because here in Europe we make very few children: and as children are rather frustrated as being treated just as objects. I hope in Russia it is different. LOVE

An amazing and disciplined performance...only to be ruined by the damned FOOT TAPPING of one soloist.

@@filosofischdingetje3456 the movement is irrelevant. If you listen with headphones the sound of his foot stamping is unbearable!

@@jakemuffett8347 I really can’t tell what you are hearing. I listen to a lot of classical music and pretty good headphones, and I can’t hear any foot taping. I think this is an excellent interpretation of the piece.

@@mikado4786 agree completely, and my foot was certainly tapping along.
