I love that she is back at Sony. Every single thing she is doing for her career is on point. It takes me back to the early days when she just started. Pure perfection. It's actually the same mastering as when she released this song back in 1993 as the B-Side to Dreamlover. I compared both releases to see which one sounded better, and found that it's the same as it's always been, a beautiful, crisp, high definition audio, breathy digital recording. Thankfully all the songs on The Rarities CD didn't need to be Digitally remastered except for Here We Go Again which was originally mastered in analog. So basically Do You Think Of Me and all the other tracks were just Digitally copied and pasted into this compilation album

Mariah's tone here in the Music Box era was very distinct from her Daydream Era vocals. Here she's a real classical entertainer singer with her transatlantic accent and high, shouting-like vocals. Like a 50s singer. This was probably one of the earlier songs she produced on Music Box, because there are some tracks on Music Box where you can start to hear her Daydream tone, like Hero, and I've Been Thinking About You (real Daydreamy), with less bluesy IIIb-II-I dissonant vocals and more III-II-I runs. She still has that bluesy misty steamy tone like in Can't Let Go or If It's Over in this song, but it's one of the last times she sings in this way.

I used to be obsessed w/ this song when I was little. Still am.😉 I always say that 1993 is my favorite year, musically. _Do You Think of Me_ is everything that I love about early 90's r&b. It's the dreaminess and overall mood of this song for me. Certain nuances take me right on back.

I can't fathom why they thought Just to Hold You Once Again was good enough for the album but not this or Everything Fades Away. (I do like All I've Ever Wanted though. So I'd keep that.)

I had the Music Box album on cassette tape when it came out. Now I’m my 30’s, I only heard this for the first time last week! And it’s EVERYTHING!! That drum beat followed by the bass then breathy vocals. Instant goosebumps!!! Listening after a blunt takes it to another level 😍😛
