She still is despite vocal decline from overuse and no rest. American media and culture will push fame in a corner and wait until the slightest bit of imperfection becomes a running rumor or joke. Mariah Carey has stayed strong through scrutiny, being bi polar, and living up to the public expectation of vocal perfection.
