This first album was EVERYTHING. She was so beautiful, the songs were amazing, her voice was on point. Plus, it brings back so many great memories. A dear friend of mine, from when he was a little boy, grew up into a beautiful young man. We loved each other as friends for years, but were starting to be attracted to each other in a different way as young adults... He LOVED this album and used to play it when my best friend (his cousin) and I would go to his house. He was suddenly killed in an accident not much later. We were devastated. I was literally a child when she first came onto the scene! IT was a momentous discovery! Kids these days will NEVER understand living through the beginnings of a Superstar. 30+ years ago and yet MC is known WORLDWIDE! I was only 3 whenthis single came out. I was so confused as a little boy. 2 good looking adults sitting across eachother hating another hurt angered saddened hopeful about the relationship. I can still remember being a very young child and seeing these people as ADULTS! Little did I know as I grew up that they were young and naive in many, many ways! But I had parents and family that I could to run to and they were this age at this time! However, now....I thoroughly understand the theme of this entire track.
