This is so true. Her belts from Glitter (2001) to EOM (2005) are so much more gratifying. Like her belts in her prime are more explosive and are as equally impressive but the sheer power and resonance in her belts from 2001-2005 is unreal. It has the depth and maturity that young Mariah doesn’t quite have. When you have a voice like hers with so many gifts and talents different things tend to shine from era to era. Great review! 🙌🏾

I will always love Mariah. Her voice is so pure and special that no one could ever duplicate, ever! I would really love if you could react to her song on her first album, it’s called There’s Got To Be A Way. I’m sure you know it, but I think for one it has a great message to people, two it’s an incredible song vocally and three, her whistle note in that one completes it. ❤️
@ciarrajohnson21637 жыл бұрын
That song was only released in Europe, etc! It didn’t get a chance to do anything in America! That whistle at the end was alien-like😄😄✊🏿✊🏿

4:38 it was the comeback era, The Emancipation Of Mimi era. But the "Imma hunt you down" era (the song is actually called Touch My Body) came 3 years later with the E=MC2 era. Btw The Emancipation Of Mimi is definitely her hardest to sing album, too many transitions, insanely fast melismas, highest chest belts ever from her, and her best whistles (in this song there's a breef F#7 after the held F#6 at the end, listen closely). In this album she peaked at A5 with the belts, always with insane power and resonance, and at F#7 with the whistle register in this masterpiece!!😍😍

Highly doubt it. This song is imposssssible to sing like that in one take. Even Mariah Carey in her primest prime couldnt do it. The transitions would kill her vocals to do it in one take perfectly like that.
@kylerill5 жыл бұрын
I thought it was we belong together. She was rushing to let the label hear her music. She was recording WBT when the execs came to the studio and she belted it in one take which is why the song has no bridge or outro because mariah didn't have time to think about it

All of you are wrong. James she did Stay The Night in one take. Kayne said they didn't have the amount of time she wouldve like. So she they focused on the production and right before she had to leave she went into the box and did one take for main vocals. Then some adlibs and rolled. He said he was shocked, he never seen anything like it. In regards to We Belong Together that is unfinished. She never had time to finish the ending. LA Reid was in the lobby and called her on his way up. She didn't have enough time to come up with anything so she basically adlibed the whole ending of the song which is why it's just her main voice and the oooohhs and aaahhs that's in the background of the first two chorus.
