I love your reactions! Especially Mariah reactions!! "She's so bad." YES SHE IS!!! 30 years later and she's still feeding us with amazing vocals. Mariah wrote and originally recorded this song 10 years ago.. but this remix compliments the original so remarkably well. Mariah's production of all their vocals is justa perfect demonstration of what a musical genius she truly is. The lambs and the arianators have been begging for a collab and whistle harmonization between these 2 ladies.. and J-Hud beautifully added such subtle power and beauty to this track. Once again, Mariah has masterminded another song. Only her!! I love that All I Want for Christmas is #1 again this year.. but I really hope this song gets the same. It is worth it!

Agree -- there's a TON of vocals in this song. The "ho ho" throughout different parts in the background (really obvious at 3:18, that cooing descent (yes!), the ladies harmonizing (so well that it's hard to pick them out sometimes), and on and on.

Yes, exactly. Mariah's first and longest whistle sings the highest note and Ariana harmonizes with the lowest whistles. And the final whistle, where they say "SantAAA" Mariah makes the lowest whistle and Ariana the highest, a G#6.

Listen to the isolated vocals. Mariah does both the G#6 and F6 ‘Santa’. Ariana does a C#6, even though you don’t get that impression from the way her face looks in the film clip.

So in operatic terms, Ariana is the lyric-coloratura soprano, JHud is the dramatic soprano while Mariah is spinto soprano but actually also has the capability of being a contralto, mezzo-soprano, dramatic soprano, lyric soprano and coloratura soprano and everything in between depending on the requirements of the song and even moments in the song. Mariah not a Spinto Soprano. I think she was when she first started but matured into a coloratura soprano. Mariah is able to do seamless runs and rifts. She can project power but her transitions to light to power and runs into low notes nd rifts into high. Ariana is light lyric soprano. Her voice is very airy and lighter tone then Mariah and Jennifer. Jennifer is a Spinto Soprano who is capable of doing dramatic soprano belts and light lyrical phrases.
