And you don't see a lot of shade clips from the beginning of her career because she believes you have to earn the right to throw shade. There are levels to this! She never shaded anyone who paved the way for her! The only person to come before her that she shaded was Madonna, and it was in response to something she had said about Mariah and Madonna wasn't one her paved her way. She was in a different lane. She has definitely shaded people in the 90s, but every time Mariah shades someone it's in response to something negative they've said about her. Mariah is not a nasty person, she only shades people when it's deserved. But it's not as if "over time" she's become bitter or something with age like Dee implied. Mariah is very humble and sweet but if someone comes for her she will not take it lying down.
