FACTS! Here is not her prime in fact her technique was not perfect but then she started to perfect the technique and she was incredible. This song like all Mariah songs is vocal suicide, In fact like every Mariah's song there are no covers that use the original arrangement. But what establishes her as the best is her VERSATILITY, MUSICALITY, RANGE, AND ABOVE ALL VOCAL SKILLS. She's the master of every technique . No one can do everything she could do with her voice.

the most incredible thing is, mariah didn't even study music or learned to write song lyrics. she was born with the talent but her mother said the vocal training from the age of 4 helped her range and to harmonize. and from that age of 4 mariah already had the ear for music and singing and at times would tell her mother she is doing the wrong note lmaooo

The iconic "Somebody is hitting the wrong note" and then she gave us in machete eyes singing Butterfly in 1997 at David Letterman Show where the back up messed up the note she turned and saw her as if she had killed somebody instead of messing (don't get me wrong, she loves her backup singers, they are family to her, she even shares a #1 song with Trey Lorenz and the other 2 ladies have been with her since 1993. Then 2008 we have 2, in the middle of the actual performance at GMA Summer concert series while performing Touch my body she turned around as if it was part of the lyrics and said to the backup "Stop singing my part now baby! “ 😂😂😂 and at The Oprah Winfreshow she was performing" Bye bye" and the backup sang an octave higher than her and drowned even the music. Mariah turned around and looked at her like saying "Dude what the F are you doing, your messing my performance". This ong is called Vanishing, she wrote when she was 16 years old and is produced by her in her debut album that's why she is so acquaintant with her, is 100% her creation. When she jumped from chest voice to whistle register she made a 2.5 octaves jump in 2 different registers. That's technically imposible, her entire vocal range is seamless and just for you to have an idea we said she jumped 2.5 octaves, Whitney Houston RIP had a 3 octaves vocal range same as Kelly Clarkson and Pink, she basically sang outside the limits of most artists in mainstream music and she did it in the space of a syllable
