I felt how sad she was at the end... When she said “thank you” I can tell that it was affecting her so much. Bipolarity plus depression is sad that Mariah had to go through that when it wasn’t even her intentional fault that that happened during NYE 2016/17. But a year later, she released Caution and is now so much more happier.

Well, it was her bad arm that had nerve damage when she had a bad fall some 5-6 years ago. Observe how deformed her right hand is specifically the ring and pinky finger. She lost total control of those two fingers because of the injury thus the shaking.

I remember when ppl complained the way she performed this live because they said she was losing her voice and it wasn't strong enough but I look and see something way different. Ppl were looking for her to sing the way she did back then so much that they were missing out on Mariah showing us a new way of her using her vocals and guess wat the way shes singing in this performance is what we are so used to seeing now with Mariah the way she performs live. Im thinking wow wat were ppl thinking. Smh. This was the start of her new way of singing..idk hard to explain. Now the way she sings is the same way she sings here...I hope u can understand what I mean. I don't feel I'm explaining myself very well. Ppl need to learn to appreciate Mariah because her vocals are always changing. Years from now they will say the same thing about the way she sings now which they are and then when her voice changes again they are going to wish they had loved her singing now and appreciated it. Mariah is NOT 18 anymore. She has had A LOT more use of & strain on her vocal chords over the years from her MANY, MANY studio recordings, live performances and concert tours AND one's voice NATURALLY changes with age---gets deeper, etc., etc. After all these years----despite it not being the exact version as the 90's---sounded pretty darn good. She did what she had to do with her voice to compensate for not being 18 or in her 20s anymore. I go back and listen to her old recordings and am ASTOUNDED BY HER NATURAL TALENT. NOT many can touch her vocal ability.

Incredible performance in my opinion. Yes her vocals are not like they use to be back in the early 1990s but she still can hit some pretty ridiculous notes and if you listen really intently you can still hear her 1990s voice coming through especially her low notes and tone at times. Was it perfect? No but at least she sang live and it just prooves she still has it and better than some artists you hear on radio these days using autotune and overediting

Kudos to Mariah! To get up and sing in front of people is a challenge in and of itself. And to do it in front of the world on live television, too, is phenomenal. She worked hard when her voice was in its prime and as far as I'm concerned she's earned the right to sing live or not. Just to challenge herself and sing live when she really didn't have to was more than enough for me.
