My family dynamic wasn't the best growing up and I found comfort in these family sitcoms and shows where everything works out by the end of the show. As I grew up though I found less comfort in the shows because I felt upset or different that my family wasn't like these awesome TV families. Kind of interesting how the shows took on different meanings throughout my childhood, provided comfort and at the same time I couldn't relate to the perfect family TV.

Maria!! I’m a few years older than you but grew up in Australia so I ended up watching all those same shows… I dream of Jeanie… bewitched… lassie… flipper… cosbys…. Full house… family ties etc I never thought about how this has impacted my psychological makeup!

I remember the rail thin Era as well. Not sure if that was early to mid 2000s? It really affected me in high school. I struggled with eating because I was an athletic build and was by no means stick thin. It was hard when these actresses you looked up to lost so much weight and were being celebrated it was hard not to internalize that you should become that. I was so happy when the rail thin time went away. I think some people are naturally skinny and even struggle to put on weight. I think healthy bodies should be celebrated and that will look different for everyone. ❤

I’m surprised she doesn’t review movies since her hosting First Look is what brought me here.

I definitely was( still am a bit) a runner when life didn't play out like my childhood shows! I grew up in the 90s but also watched 80s TV shows too. Such a neat topic ❤

Hey Maria... so I don't watch your videos too often (I always miss the stream, because you're up before the sun), and I haven't learned the names of the girls that work with you (hey, they're younger than me, as are you... and attractive women get earn the title of "girl", when they OWN enjoying being a girl)... anyway, they were talking about their height, and I was wondering... how tall is the brunette, and how tall is the blonde? I have a funny (maybe sad?) story, so keep reading... When I was in 11th grade, there was this girl in my class, who I was very attracted to. She was in the 12th grade, and was REALLY PRETTY!! Now she was a bit heavy (pear-shaped), but she had the luck of not showing it in her face - and that's what meant the most to me, that she was so pretty (her size wasn't an issue... and I was skinny, in case you wondered). Although she was always nice to me, and she seemed to like me too (and I was fairly attractive)... she wouldn't entertain the idea of dating me. The reason? She was taller than me! Now I wasn't short - I was 5'10" (I'm almost 5'11" now)!! I don't remember how tall she was after all these years, but I think she was 6'1" I used to always talk to her, give her complements on how pretty she was, and be nice to her in general... but she was so self-conscious about her height (and this is most likely the fault of society), that she didn't feel comfortable dating (and I presume, possibly marry) a guy that was shorter than her. There wasn't anything I could do to make her feel less self-conscious about her height (which I thought was TOTALLY ATTRACTIVE... I love tall women), but alas... I never got through to her. I have no idea where she is today, since I don't keep touch with anyone from school (it was before social media, and since I moved away from the area, I lost track of EVERYONE)... so I don't know if she ever found someone taller than (or as tall as) her, or if she ever got over that stigma of needing to be with someone taller! I'll tell you what... watching the Summer Olympics last year, and seeing those tall girls playing volleyball... I was so attracted. My desire for tall women hasn't waned. It was NEVER a requirement, by any means. Most of the women I dated have been around 5'6". I don't consider a woman to be "short"... unless she's UNDER 5'4". Less than 5'2" is too short for me (personally). I know some guys TOTALLY dig petite girls, so short girls should NEVER be down on themselves, because of their lack of stature: You fill a niche that tall girls can't do... so OWN IT!! 😁👏

Ahh... you were born in the era I refer to as "after" STAR WARS, since the "first" Star Wars came out on May 25th, 1977 (that is the ORIGINAL Star Wars day/anniversary). I don't know if I follow you on anything else, so I'll try to remember YOUR birthday, so I can give you a birthday wish... maybe when you hit 45? (44 isn't "quite" a milestone)! 😉 BTW... how did that guy leave a comment 9 hours ago, for a video released about "2" hours ago? Time travel?!!
