I agree . There's no point in arguing with someone who's so mindset on what they were taught by their pastors/preachers with a fundamentalist view. The woman's name was Adele Brise, who rec'd much the same message as most other visionaries whom our mother Mary has appeared to, "pray for the conversion of sinners throughout the world, pray the rosary daily". The community of Peshtigo, Wisconsin believed in the apparitions and their church and all it's surroundings were spared during the great fire of 1871, yes the same one as Chicago.

I have followed this apparition event for years and the Church has given its approval. It is not easy to approve these apparitions because there are many factors involved, and yes, even the devil can manifest and create the false illusion of goodness, but this is hardly the case. The apparitions were OF God, meaning that people were being called to love, not hate one another. To pray and to offer up our sufferings through prayer. The young man portrayed in this story was an atheist. He and his family did not practice any religion and they were very poor, but all those things changed and he left his family and set out to become a missionary. Two of the visionaries were killed. Although they died, they were instrumental in helping to convert people to Jesus. It is said that as of today, Rwandans see themselves as unified, not separated into tribes. Hate is something that can grow, without even a hint of how ugly it can get. It is like a little seed planted and grows into something horrible. The Holy Mother begs us to forgive others. She asks us this to remind us of the importance of how we approach God. A spiteful, hateful heart is not open to grace. If you don't know how to forgive someone in your life, ask God to help you. Pray a simple prayer, but make an honest effort to pray in truth. God bless.

Most apparitions are not approved by the Church for these reasons. They are investigated thoroughly before being declared of God. Generally, one of the biggest test: the apparitions cannot add or change any new revelations about Salvation. Although, the visions often predict the future or give new ways to pray, they mainly reinforce what we already know: that we must pray, repent, love one another, etc. Medjegore, is the one of the more famous ones that have not been approved.

As we ask friends to intercede for us in prayer, we ask Mary whom Jesus loved to also pray for us. Many honor and love Mr Obama In like spirit we honor and respect and love Mary. Actually the rosary is a prayer of contemplation of the life of Jesus. I assume that you are referring to the 'vain repetition' with your bible reference, but consider, the NIV and others interpret that as babbling. This was because in Ba'al worship pagans would repeat the name of Ba'al over and over to get heard. 'come to me Ba'al! Ba'al you know I'm your follower Ba'al' etc. This is actually closer to most protestant prayers- 'Lord, we just ask that you... and Lord..."

How do you know? Were you there, MS All Knowing? The Scriptures are part of the belief system of Christians. Not everthing we believe is called what it's called in the scriptures. Mary remained a virgin & Joseph died when Jesus was a very young man. Would you loose your faith & beliefs if someone took your bible from you? We the catholic respect Mary for she is our mother and the person who bring us closer to Jesus. But we don't worship her. I think it is best that you should meet with a catholic priest or review the catholic catechism. It'll help you a lot and on the same time lighten up your heart.

Saints are not dead but alive in God, like Jesus said.I am the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacoib, God is the god of living and not dead. We believe in the communion of saints, we pray for eachothers and we ask LIVING saints to pray for us. The rosary is a meditation of the life of Jesus from birth. We use the salutations of the Angel and the testimony of the holy spirit. On the other hand find me a verse where God says you must read the Bible to be saved. Jesus left a living community not a book.
