We must keep in mind that in Roman's, as well as all of Pauls' letters, begin with " To the saints of..". These are letters written to already saved christians. Not instructions on how to be saved but further instructions in the faith.. The last instance in scripture where we have Paul leading people to salvation is in Acts ch 19. After telling the disciples that John had said to believe on the one to come after him, Jesus Christ you don't read that they confessed that they believed or asked Jesus into their hearts ,they believed by what they did next and that was to go down to the water to be water baptized by Paul. Then Paul layed hands on them and they recieved the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. They didn't recieved the Holy Spirit when they first believed they recieved the Spirit when they obeyed. In Acts ch 3 Peter said, " God gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey"

Romans 10:9:10 is not our doctrine of salvation. BUT confessing and good fruits was part of what was required by the Jews if they were to endure to the end; the end being the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven, Christ's millennium reign on earth in Israel. In the dispensation of grace God does not put any requirements on the believer for salvation. It is only by grace through faith alone on what Jesus did for the believer on the cross. In Ephesian 2:8:9 the apostle tells how we are saved,both Jew and Greek, in the Age of Grace, into the Body of Christ: "For by grace are ye saved through faith;and that not of yourselves:it is the gift of God:lest any man should boast." Salvation is totally by grace. That means you dont deserve it, you can't earn it, you cannot pay for it. It's a free gift. It's not anything your outward or your inward man does. It's simply faith. Nothing more,nothing less. Most churches usually add a lot to the simplicity of the gospel. Confessing,water baptism,The Lord's Supper,obedience, endurance,etc. being some. The main reason why is that they dont differentiate between Israel and the Body of Christ,the Church.The result is that they add to the gospe of the Grace of God things you must do to get saved and things you most do to stay saved. Do and do, and do a little more. All contrary to the simplicity of the International gospel by which all believers regardless of their etneticity are saved today. It is very sad.

If somebody thought that they blasphemed the Holy Ghost, and they were deluded to think they were condemned, but they still uttered the corollary, "Jesus is Lord" and believed Jesus rose from the grave, then, that is proof that they didn't commit the unpardonable sin because no man can say 'Jesus is Lord' except speaking by the Spirit!

@@ThisRedeemedLife - did you know that Heaven is a free gift from God? Billions of people go to bed every night wondering if they have been “good enough” to go to heaven. There is no need to live in fear and doubt. Jesus taught that you can “know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” There are many passages in the Bible that teach the truth about Heaven being a free gift from God because of what Jesus did for us on the cross, not by our own good works. One of the most clear and important passages is from the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesians: Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Most people think that Heaven is a riddle which can never be solved. This is not true! The Bible is very clear about how you get to Heaven, and how it comes by faith in Jesus Christ, not by trusting in our own good works. We are living in the dispensation of the grace of God, by believing and trusting the gospel of salvation (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) given to our Apostle Paul by Jesus Christ you are saved and sealed with the holy Spirit of promise till the day of redemption!!! Ephesians 1:13 - King James Version 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Romans 2:16 - King James Version 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. Romans 10:1-4 In order to understand Romans 10:9-10, it is better if we begin reading in verse 1: “[1] Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. CONCLUSION Friends, Romans 10:9-10 was a formula for lost Jews to be saved from Israel’s apostasy during the Acts period. Paul wrote it with Jewish salvation in mind during the transitional period. He did it to provoke lost Israelis to understand and address their spiritual dilemma. Romans 10:9-10 has nothing to do with us Gentiles or members of the Body of Christ. There are religious people who do not like that previous sentence, but that is fine. I would rather believe my Bible than them or their denomination any day! You, friend?

You must be born again or you go to hell. John 3 5 You must repent from your sins and be baptized under water te receive forgiveness from those sins. Then receive the Holy Spirit. Lead a Holy life free from sin acts2 .38 Those are the conditions This is the true gospel. Anything else is a curse. Confess means that you Confess that you trust in Jesus that you do not only believe because demons believe also. But that you believe that everything that Jesus said is true. And that is repent from your wicked ways and get baptized under water.
@t.l.c.55103 жыл бұрын
Actually. You are completely wrong. Most of Romans is addressed to Israel. Romans 10 is Paul's heartfelt desire for Israel to be saved (see vrs 1). Vrs's 9&10 were how Israel got saved. First it was repentance and baptism that was required (see Acts 2:38) now it was confession of who Christ was. To Israel. You say context is king then hold to that. The context is Paul speaking to Israel, not the Gentiles. Paul later tells us in 1 Cor 15 what the gospel is and in Eph 1:13 he tells us how to get saved. This is how we are saved today under the dispensation of grace given to Paul (Eph 3:1) The gospel that saves is rather simple: Simply believe this: 1Co 15:1-2 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Because this is what Paul tells us to do: Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Why is it so simple? Eph 3:8-10 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, And what is this manifold wisdom of God? Eph 2:7-9 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Simply trust that the finished work of Christ on the cross was enough to appease the wrath of God on mankind’s sin and the individuals. For without faith it is impossible to please God and it this trusting that what Christ did at the cross was enough to satisfy God where we as individuals exercise this faith: “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (Rom 12:3 ) For He gives grace to the humble and resists the proud (James 4:6)

I am sure many here are well intentioned, good people. Before you get to Romans 10:9-10, lets take one minute in "the word"., Go head, grab your most Christian bible you want. Context is everything, thats right, now lets unpack this for real. Romans 10:6-8 misquotes, takes words away Deut. 30:11-14: Romans "But the righteousness based on faith says." Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?' (that is, to bring Christ down) or 'Who will descend into the abyss?' (that a is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim)." Deuteronomy "But the word is very near to you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, SO THAT YOU MAY DO IT." How dare Paul remove such an important text: "SO THAT YOU MAY DO IT". This was deliberate. Why? because it does not fit his resurrection / savior narrative. This is not a mistake or scribal error, this is intentional, its disgusting, truly a biblical crime scene. He quotes out of context, changes the theology to force fit his Christology. You cannot rely on the so called "NT. There is no apologetics than get you out of this, Paul's letters are not inspired by g-d. Go ahead and have your Christianity, but don't let Paul pretend he can use the authority of the Tanakh, the Jewish scriptures, it does not comport. Totally separate theology, zero connection. Christians should be running away as fast as possible from the NT and rely on the jewish scriptures for good orderly direction. Faith and righteousness are both required. Oh well, 2 billion "believers" in the world and they have all been misled. Its okay g-d predicted this too: Deuteronomy 7:7 "G-d did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more numerous than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples” Deut. 4:27 “you will be few”. Psalm 44 “you will be hated by the world.” So your being a popular religion is meaningless. I am not "blind" (that narrative was made up too to make you feel superior to Judaism), I'd say you are blind, because no one here knows Hebrew fluently, puts you at a huge dissadvantage, so you rely on your preachers for guidance. good grief,
@colonalklink14 Жыл бұрын
The purpose of Romans 10: 8, 9, 10, is to put all of your confidence (trust) in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation. It's not what you say that saves you but rather it's the object of your faith. The book of John says believe about 99 times, no mention of confession or repentance. *Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.* False teachers redefine faith as obedience and belief as total commitment. Let's help you with the Biblical definition of faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. You are just backloading works into the gospel and attributing them to God. A changed life is not automatic that takes complete cooperation with the Holy Spirit. The entire book of Corinthians was written to disobedient, carnal, Christians, who had to be told how to live; apparently a changed life is not inevitable. A fruit inspecting backloader, such as yourself, would say that they were not saved.

Sister Marian, I'm not saying you're wonrg but I believe you are still missing the point of this verse.....Paul is not saying if you confess Jesus as Lord of your life. That is not what this scripture is telling us. Paul is saying, "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is YHWH (LORD) and that YHWH raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Look at verse 13. Paul is quoting Joel 2:32 "for whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD (YHWH - the name of the Father.....Yahweh, Yehovah, Jehovah, Yahuah, Yahuwah, etc). Look at Phillip 2:9-11....Paul is quoting Isa. 45:21-23....where LORD is all caps meaning the Father (YHWH). Phillip 2:10-11...."that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth; 11) and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD (YHWH) to the glory of God the Father. Furthermore.....Isa. 9:6...."for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government whall be upon his shoulder; and his name (titles) shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting (eternal) Father, The Prince of Peace". Consider Isa. 43:3.."For I AM the LORD (YHWH) thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior...." and again, Isa.44:24...."thus saith the LORD (YHWH), thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I AM the LORD (YHWH) that maketh all things; that stretchth forth the heavens alone; that spreadth abroad the earth by itself." Compare that verse to Col. 1:16. Jesus plainly said he was the great I AM. Sister Marian if you're not familiar with the tetragrammaton YHWH, I encourage you to research it because it will open the NT up in profound ways. Grace to you as we both study to be able to rightly divide the word of truth.

But what did Jesus Himself say we Must do to be saved? These 4 scriptures settings, are straight from The Source. Matthew 28:19--John 3:1-7--Matthew 16:19--Acts 2:38 Acts 2:38=John 3:5 Of course it does. Jesus didn't give Peter the Keys just so he could hold them until he returned. Notice the "Name" in baptism, instead of the mere titles... When was the mode of baptism changed? second century The Catholic Encyclopedia, II, page 263: "The baptismal formula was changed from the name of Jesus Christ to the WORDS/TITLES father, son, and holy spirit by the Catholic Church in the Second century." No one was ever baptized in the titles... Acts 4:12 No Other Name Colossians 2:9 "In Him" {not them} dwells All the fullness bodily. We should stay with what Jesus and the Apostles preached, then we will understand that Paul was speaking to "those who had already obeyed the Gospel Jesus preached... [they were "in the church" already] That old Roman road will lead you to nowhere.... Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through Philosophy and Vain Deceit, after the "Tradition Of Men", after the Rudiments Of The World, and not after Christ.

Rom 10:9. Paul is NOT saying we have been saved from Hell / eternal death. He is saying that when we believe and confess the Lord Jesus we are saved from death. Salvation from death is our pass over. Now we are alive and just as Israel began there journey to the promised land we began our journey to the promised Kingdom. Be warned Israel died and were unable to enter. If we are dead in sin on the last day we will not enter His rest. First gift of salvation is life. The last gift of salvation is eternal life. Two separate salvations

@@TheIrishMegaphone Please look up the definition of the word "shalt" Shalt is present tense of the word shall. Shall is future tense. If Rom 10:9 is saying everyone that believes is going to Heaven then why did Jesus say not everyone who says Lord Lord shall enter Heaven. (Matt :21-23) Heaven and Hell are destinations. Acts 16: 30 --and brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved ? Acts 16: 31 --And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Acts 16: 33 --And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes ; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway..... In every single example of people believing on Christ in the NT, they were always in every instance, baptized as soon as possible, and most of the time within the same day .... Baptism is not ever described as a " public profession of faith." ..... Baptism is always, when described, is for forgiveness and remission of sins (always).... If they are not baptized, they will believe on Christ, but die in their sins .....

DocScience2 Your assumption about baptism is partially correct but without the revelation of the mystery it's yet lacking and its not mentioned in ROM 10:9....but anyway we can discuss. While baptism was commanded by Jesus for the remission of sins, Jesus also taught the entire law while confirming the promises given to Israel. “Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:” - Romans 15:8 It was not until after Pentecost when God instituted the dispensation of grace that he gave first to Paul. He would then reveal the secret of the meaning behind his death on the cross. This message of the cross was made available to all men without distinction, covenant status, circumcision, or water baptism. Instead of becoming priests and reigning in an earthly kingdom, the body of Christ today is to assume a heavenly position with Christ as our mediator. No one today can become the priestly mediator to Christ through the washings and anointings of the law. Rather, by his grace, God freely gives those that believe a high calling in Christ Jesus! Once we believe that Christ was the much needed blood propitiation for our sins, then we are baptized into the Lord himself! “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body…” - 1 Corinthians 12:13 We are not baptized into water to remit our sins, we are baptized into Christ! This baptism is not just a cleansing, it is an extermination. Our baptism into Christ crucifies our flesh and places us into his death. Likewise we will take part in his resurrection. “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” - Romans 6:3-4. Your baptism doctrine is sound concerning the earthly ministry of Christ not according to the Dispensation of the grace of God.

Bdawg02 “And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:” Ephesians 3:9-11. Well done.

Remember she did not give an hour lecture, but 5 minutes. God used her in a mighty way by simplifying it for common folks, and proper hermeneutics tells us that this passage is not for the non believer but the Church who is already regenerated. To "Believe" is to believe in the life,death, and resurrection of Yeshua. She was on point God Bless

Even the demons believed with fear and trembling. James 2:19 ---- you are taking this out of context, What do you do with Romans 6:3 - act 2:38 also read Matt. 7:21

Marian what you are teaching is Paul, i must ask who is the lord Paul or Jesus, if you believe Jesus is the lord and savior then see what he says and not what Paul says. because what Jesus say is total opposite to what you are teaching people as Jesus said in Matthew chapter 5 Verse 17-19 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
