My family has had a tough few years. My mum had a stroke (she’s ok but still recovering) I’ve been diagnosed with hyper mobility syndrome and fibromyalgia and my sister gets stressed. So this year we had New Year’s Eve at home, they played cards, I read my book and the chaps watched a film. It was perfect and no pressure! 😁

The less I worry about what I'm eating and drinking the less i eat and drink. And i have wonderful friends and family who think I'm the bees knees so that's what makes me happy. Have stopped worrying about what i look like.

New year's eve has always been shit and January is the armpit of the year... I can't think of a worst time to self-reflect and look back. To me Spring is a time of new beginnings x

I decided to make some NY resolutions for once - to spend at least 10 minutes each day on something creative (sewing, painting etc.) to spend at least 10 minutes each day on something mindful (reading, listening to music, quiet spaces). Nothing huge or grandiose but I should manage as it is something to look forward to, am hoping it makes a habit as these past two years have had some grim times.

Thanks Marian, I don't like NYE either and it's my bloody birthday! I have always felt so forced to celebrate due to the birthday, but then can I ever get people to celebrate with me, no, all the buggers are under the NYE fog and have parties to attend. Lovely wise words x i’m very relaxed about the new year as ive ignored it most years. My new year resolution is to be able to recognise types of trees (feel free to laugh) i just can’t name any with any confidnence except for the christmas tree! Its a pine isnt it ? Totally with you. Hate new year. I stopped attempting to celebrate it 15 years ago when a trip to Disneyland ended in us seeing in the new year on a bus in a car park. Don’t buy into the “new year, new me” BS. Don’t make yourself miserable in a bid to “better yourself”.

You of all people could possibly help in nudging these politicians to end Homelessness. It is wrong on all levels. A roof and your own key to safety should be a basic human right. I no longer buy a yearly diary because I hate new year nonsense. But I keep an ordinary notebook.
