"great integrity"? Calling singers of today fame hungry "sluts"? With her past??? I wouldn't exactly accuse that woman of "great integrity".

She's had 2 great albums, self-titled(2011) and One Breath(2013), both nominated for Mercury awards. It took me a little to warm to her voice, but I had the opportunity to see her live and she blew me away. The theatricality, the artistry, she was simply amazing, and it seems like she's only improving. This song doesn't display her guitar playing very well, but she is very skilled. One of the few women who both play guitar and sing these days. I would check her stuff out if I were you, ask me if you want anymore info , cheers!

Marianne Faithful had such a sweet beautiful voice before she ruined it with drink, drugs and maybe swallowing too much toxic semen. The shift in octaves started in the early 70's and her voice has become considerably lower and gravelly. Tom Jones on the other hand has a voice that's still as pure and as powerful as it's always been because by his own admission he never indulged in the drink and drugs that some of the artists ruined their vocals and looks with.

Can not agree with all the positive statements. Sounds like speaking not singing. Music is good. Poor voice has had it, it's hopeless. Tragic really.

What the hell....this is embarrassing she just cant sing (well not anymore) i am going to be honest and brutal she was an icon of the 60's Sometime a person has to say its time not to sing publicly anymore. I was 9 years old i rem seeing her on TV in the 60's and thinking i hope she will be my girlfriend one day when i grow up, and that is even before i knew what i could do with a girlfriend ( well Kids back then were very innocent ) she should always be looked up as an important part of an era and her singing on stage today is not doing her any favors specially the younger adults who dont remember her.

Roberto Doveris Oh come on mate lets face it she cant sing. Now close your eyes and think about it, would you or the BBC give her the light of day if she was not Marian faithful?
@jeframp38059 сағат бұрын
It was an infection which did this and she isn’t even that bad bar the intro where she gets a smokers voice crack. David Bowie sounded like this by the late 90s and nobody cared. Bonnie Tyler sounded like this her entire career. We didn’t get to here her old voice to compare. Probably the stress flared copd
@yell502 сағат бұрын
@ Do you think if she was not A 60,s Icon (Marian faithful) she would be given the light of day for her singing voice by a record company? if you cant be truthful, all other conversation would be lost on you. thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@mandolinic10 жыл бұрын
This is so dreadful. She was never a brilliant singer but to embarrass herself like this live on national TV is heartbreaking. She's now proved she couldn't carry a tune in a paper bag.

@MrJames1994UK10 жыл бұрын
Oh you're really one to judge. She's got more talent and experience than you've got. If she's so crap, then why the hell is she still prominent in music 50 years on? And why have so many talented musicians collaborated with her? Such as Roger Waters, Metallica, Lou Reed, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave and more.
@RayasNegroOvejas10 жыл бұрын
Doesn't depends? She was a completely different singer in the 60's, just listen to her version of As Tears Go By. I read your comment before I watched, and maybe thanks to that I was somewhat pleasantly surprised. I've seen clips of her performing drunk/high, or whatever, and that's more "embarrassing" than seeing an artist celebrating 50 years in music as a last chapter.
