I wonder what the Wolfman made of that performance? It's so totally out of whack it's brilliant. Bowie with feathers and high heels, Marianne dressed like a nun and I don't really know where the backup singers came from but they fit in perfectly. May I remind everyone of the quality of this recording/video, it's 50 years ago.

I vividly recall this one "flooring" me when I watched the original airing. One of the more bizarre performances I'd ever seen. Marianne was basically living on the streets, strung-out and destitute after Jagger dumped her. Amazing that Bowie managed to get this performance from her at all. Since she wasn't taking care of her health, her voice definitely had begun to suffer at this point. Even though her voice suffered more damage in the years after this performance, she kicked the drugs, made the best of things, and fashioned a considerable career as a solo artist and actress that still continues.

On the bootleg versions of this we get to see Marianne's right leg up to her waist for a couple of seconds at the start. Looks like she had nothing on underneath that habit. Recorded at London's Marquee. Great to see a good quality version of this performance.

I have been watching bootleg videos of this and other Bowies videos from this particular show for years and most with a lot of quality flaws or missing spots but was happy to see them and could live with them! ...But finally, it's so great to start seeing very high-quality original TMS videos here on "The Midnight Special" channel from Bowie's 1980 Floor Show that aired back in 1973 and I remember it like it was yesterday! ...I sure hope eventually the whole show will be shown in its entirety! ...As there was nothing else ever like it ever since as it was almost the end of his Ziggy-Aladdin persona! ...Absolutely Bowie fantastic! Thank you Midnight Special for releasing it and the many other shows and artist you have been sharing as I have been praying for many, many, many years for this musical history day to come from you!

Fun fact from the "Moonage Daydream" Mick Rock photography book about the Ziggy era: Marianne Faithfull's costume doesn't have a back-- her "wonderful arse" (David's words) was just hanging out during this performance. @@TonyGPizza this is from November 1973 and Blazing Saddles came out in February 1974. Brooks was likely done filming and it was in post-production by the time Marianne and Bowie sang this duet.
