Mariano has been making a name for himself in the poker vlogging streets over the past couple of years. This hand is one of the biggest pots he has ever played!
On this Hustler Casino Live stream they are playing an usual $5/$5/$100 BB Ante game. A huge hand is about to take place as two players have Ace-King (AK) and Mariano is sitting there with pocket queens (QQ)!
Francisco gives off a huge live tell in this hand as he decides to pick up his cards and show his opponent after sighing when Mariano calls Mike’s all-in! 14:54
Remember that a good strategy to win in loose & splashy poker games is to play tight, solid and aggressive poker. It is common knowledge that these poker games on the HCL live stream are known to be rather wild with huge pots being pushed all around the table. Mariano is very well aware of this which is why he’s happy to stack off with just pocket queens.
Thank you to Hustler Casino Live for allowing me to use this footage, check out this hand and many more on their amazing KZbin channel here:

2-5-10 at a midwestern poker room a few years ago, playing about $1000 effective. Hero opens to $30 from HJ with JJ. CO reraises to $100. BTN jams for $600. SB folds. BB overjams for $900. UTG-S calls $900, leaving about $1100 behind. Hero tanks for about 30 seconds before deciding to fold. CO (fun drunk guy) snap jams for about $1800. UTG-S (an older asian guy) goes deep into the tank for what must have been 5 minutes before finally folding AK face up. BTN had 77 BB had TT CO had A4hh, spikes an A on the flop and wins the whole thing. The older asian dude looked at the fun drunk guy, rapped the table, said good game, and picked up his chips and left. I don't believe I ever saw him again.

curious of ur thoughts on them not being able to run the side pot 2x since they both agreed to it, and only run the main once

Yea I didn't understand that either. If it doesn't affect the main, side bets shouldn't be forbidden. Something goofy must have happened for them to make such a ruling.

There’s nothing worse in poker than losing to a four flush board, all in, with an over pair pre flop.

Shouldn't 3 bets in position be a little bigger than 3x (I like 3.3x) because they get 2:1 on a call and can realize their equity well? Or do we not care about giving a good price because we are in position?

Mariano should Flat AA KK and shove QQ imho at this depth. It's too shallow to flat QQ here and it would be a disaster for us to see a junk flop and have Francisco fold out his AK

Mariano played the hand greedy and lost. He should have shoved to get Francisco off of it. Instead he welcomed more action. It’s just a standard situation where the stacks were too shallow. If Mariano was deeper with Francisco he can justify a flat call of the three bet but at that stack depth it’s a re-shove 100%. He knew he was gonna flip so why flip bigger with six cards in the hole. Better to flip for the 30k heads up then three way for the whole stack!!!

66% of 30,480 is 20,116. (+6,236 EV) 55% of 106,970 is 58,834. (+12,443 EV) He just got unlucky, just because you lose the specifc hand doesnt mean you made the wrong choice.

@@mrhumble2937 not true. Francisco advertises himself as a player that wouldn’t fold AK there. If Mariano applied the pressure there he would fold 1000%. So much action upfront. I’ve literally played that same scenario 100 times. When the thinking player is faced with this decision to close the action he’ll fold based on removal specifically AK off. One big variable that often is left out is whether Francisco is up or down for the session. A tilted player calls the all in. A calm player who is up tryna lock up the win would fold

@@rare1s840 How is this "playing greedy"? He protected his calling range in case Francisco wanted to get out of line and as analyzed, will most likely never snap shove KK, AA. "Francisco advertises himself as a player that wouldn’t fold AK there. If Mariano applied the pressure there he would fold 1000%". Kind of confused on your wording here because you seem to contradict yourself. Either way, are you stating that Mariano should shove, hoping to get Francisco off of something? If he knows he can't get the only two hands he is behind of to fold, why would he shove to isolate? It's a cash game, not a tourny, so there's less implications to getting sucked out on (no ICM, bounties, etc). Very contradictory logic. +EV play with -ev result, big whoop.
