On the other hand, when he DOES realize he is being played, he will most likely be AT LEAST as destructive as Steve was when he took on Hydra. Probably more so, since he is less considerate of collateral damage. Edit: To be clear, I'm not a fan of Walker, just looking at his personality as portrayed so far in the shows and knowing the character from the comics.

He hesitated massively to help those politicians (not that they should've been helped, but whatever lol) before Sam got there. If Sam had never taken on the mantle, they'd be dead and he would have continued to mar it with bloodstains. He has a dangerous problem with obsessions to things. He's a terrible person, which is why I don't fully think he'd care. Not really. He'd care because he KNOWS it's wrong but morally... I'm not so sure.

@@shadominx3696 I agree that he has issues, and the reasoning is that was something that only Steve and Bucky would understand. Remember in "The First Avenger" when Steve was told that it makes someone more of what they already are? It was touched on again in "Civil War" with the Russian failures to create stable super-soldiers based on the serum. It is even lightly touched on with the Flag Smashers. Steve (and Bucky, though the MCU hasn't ACTUALLY confirmed he received the serum, but it seems likely given his situation when he was found by Steve during the WWII rescue of his unit) both became better soldiers and men, firmly entrenched in doing the right thing because they were ALREADY good men committed to doing the right thing (Bucky gets a pass later due to his brainwashing). Walker, on the other hand, was a great soldier with a flexible morality before he was given the serum, and THAT was what was enhanced. He wasn't as outright aggressive and dangerous as the Russian seemed to choose, but he wasn't "a good man" before he was enhanced. Enhancing his already great physique, but also his "flexible" morality, is exactly what we see in the MCU with him so far. His behavior actually shows this in series too. He becomes more soldier and more morally flexible, which is why he is constantly talking about combat when not directly involved in something else. He also demonstrates this again when his battle buddy, Battlestar, is killed and he tracks the guy down and kills him with the shield. Many soldiers feel the same when their buddies are killed, they just don't have the ability to follow up, and usually get orders NOT to (sometimes viewed as a betrayal by certain soldiers). Walker received no such orders, and he had the ability to follow through. We see it again when he is stripped of his position. His outburst is almost exactly the kind of thing that veterans tend to feel towards politicians they feel have betrayed them after they have given everything to uphold the ideals of the U.S.. He then tried to set himself up with new gear to prove that he still had value. It also gives context to why he hesitated with the politicians. remember them betraying him earlier? His acknowledgement and acceptance of Sam as the new Captain America is also a product of this mentality. Sam more closely adheres to the values and standards that Steve set forth while in the uniform, and Walker can respect that. All of the above is to get to why I think your assessment of Walker not caring that he is working for Hydra is wrong. Remember that John is WHOLLY committed to the "American" ideals, as he sees them. His enhancements only enhanced THAT aspect of him as well. The problem is, Hydra is the antithesis of those same ideals. He knows who they are and what they stand for, and when he realizes he has been played, his moral flexibility will allow him to turn against them so fast it would make Steve's turn look slow and deliberated (which it was, but that was the nature of Steve too. Think it through). Don't get me wrong, I am NOT excusing his behavior, I am merely explaining it in the context already laid out in the MCU. Walker absolutely is not a character to be admired, being just this side of the Punisher in his behavior and morality. In fact, consider how things could have played out had Frank been given the Super Soldier Serum. Walker would look like a day in the park comparatively.

I have a theory that the TVA showed up to arrest Cap when he stayed back after returning the stones, but he escaped and accidentally went through a Timedoor to the 1980s in Russia, where he fought Alexei.
