Marie Antoinette did in fact change her lifestyle after the birth of her children. She gave up her frivolous ways and devoted herself to her children.

She was the perfect target for the wrath of the forgotten poor in France. She was Austrian, and they hated her for it. She was blamed for other events and circumstances in France she had absolutely nothing to do with. Life was cheap in France then. There were heads rolling around like acorns on the sidewalk.

I have always been fascinated by her. Such a pity that she grew up without having much love from her mother. I read that Empress Maria Theresa's favorite child was Archduchess Maria Christina. She was the only one allowed to marry for love, while the other daughters were being sent away to get married for political reason. It seems that Marie Antoinette was very lonely. Living in a foreign country, married to a man who didn't favor her, and was hated by the population. Must be very hard for her.

Louis XVI actually loved her his whole life. There is no record of him ever cheating on her. But they were married too young and actually knew nothing about the mechanics of sex until her brother paid them a visit and explained it to Louis XVI. After that she became pregnant.

My mother and father in law went there. They loved it and said it was absolutely amazing. It’s beautiful for sure but the story is actually quite sad. She was a teenager when her Mother sent her there to marry as a strategic move to marry her 16 children to leaders of the world. Sad but that’s the way it was to keep peace and unrest. Girls and women were pawns. Thank the good lord it can be different now.

@@Itsindy_ it is traced to the Habsburgs through my Maternal line, 18,000 years ago. Marie Antoinette is a common ancestor. The Habsurgs were all over Europe and many people share that common ancestry. It is true that she did not have any living relatives but that is not the same as sharing a common ancestor. Marie Antoinette's bloodline Soulmate was Mozart. The bloodline ancestry of Marie Antionette: She was the direct registered descendant of Alice Whittaker of Dorset. Inspiration for the books: "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Nancy Drew Mysteries". Other bloodline ancestors include: Kuan Yin which is "Silver Script" in Chinese as she was the Royal Chronicler;. Kuan Yin was daughter to Genghis Khan and Khulan. Kuan Yin was married to Marco Polo.

Robespierre was an awful man. I'm certainly glad he met his fate the same. Marie Antoinette was thrust into a world as a teenager not out of choice and the women at court treated her awful, she was a scapegoat by all accounts thrust into a position where she could do nothing right by anyone she found solace in spending and gambling. The life of a queen was a very unhappy one. Her only real crime was ignorance and naivity. I often feel very sorry for her.

what the fuck. She was an arrogant narcissist, that was her downfall! We all know the story, stop twisting reality into feminism bullshit because you wish it was so. She was well aware that she stole the governments money, to buy useless diamonds because she was an utter narcissist who just wanted expensive shit, and treated everyone around her like garbage. The masses several times gave her hints and strong reactions at her behaviour, and she was arrogant to the very last breath. She deserved everything she got.
@kandidole2487
@kandidole2487 3 жыл бұрын
@@folieadeux5463 no twisting. She was not a narcissist . Most likely she was an Empath. She made mistakes when she was young she was thrown into an already failing system which was further exacerbated by Louis the 15 th. She and Louis tried to implement reforms but the Nobility and Clergy blocked them. If you really do your research with due diligence you will learn they were good people and did help the poor and much more within their power. Did she spend? Yes she did but so did all the other Royals. She adjusted to “ their “ lifestyle. She also preferred simplicity and got condemned for that as well. Remember she was only 14 when she was shipped of to France. She was lonely , scared, ignored by her husband, spied on , gossiped about because she was Austrian. You can believe what you want . But history is now showing her in a much different light and she was nowhere near a narcissist.

+Reanna Barnard the french revolution happened because the poor got sick of being poor. taxes all that. mind you most of the workers were working on other workers property. The king and queen were pigeonholed for raising taxes to help with our revolutionary war in the (what is now) U.S. benefiting both but france took the hard hit. .....school anyone?

Don't leave the out the reasons why she was hated at the time. Why she did not have any children for years, lived extravagant life while everyone was starving... That is also a part of her, even if it maybe was not her own doing, she was hated for it nonetheless.

It is difficult for us to understand the mentality of those born into the monarchy. I think it helps to try to look at it through a different frame of reference. The Monarchy's were very much aware of the enormous poverty and disease around them. From the beginning of their lives, although they were shielded from it, they still knew. It must have seemed strange to them to be born into such luxury with such poverty around them. I think many of them believed that they were "ordained" by God to be in this exalted position. So it would not seem surprising that they would concentrate on the luxuries around them rather than consider the enormous contradiction of their own lives. "If it was God's will, then why should they be sorry for the poor?" We find this ourselves when we sign into a luxury hotel in India, pass through security and walk outside to terrible poverty. I mean, "What can WE do to fix this?" Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

It is a very complex question, dear friend. There were no obvious reasons why she should die. It was mostly a political trial. But at this moment of French History (the Revolution), most of the trials concerning important people were political. So, have a look to the Wikipedia page on Marie-Antoinette. You will get some informations. And, by the way, freemasons had nothing to do with it 🙂

Jan, I think she did actually say let them eat cake. But I think through implication she was trying to suggest or pretend to those surrounding her, that she really believed what she said, and they played along with it. But really, they all knew full well, including Marie, the seriousness of the situation. The situation was one of extreme bad news. You have all these starving people at your gate because they have no bread. It’s terrible. And yes it’s a depressing scene not just for the starving poor but also for those who had to witness it. We all know there are beggars on the street and they aren’t a cherry sight, are they. And neither was this dreadful spectacle. Marie and her entourage were understandably trying to maintain the delicate delicious life, and by saying let them eat bread, which she did say, was actually an attempt to keep everyone including herself lifted up in this wonderfully uplifted mindset that they were used to living in. They were used to living in this uplifted state of mind with an absence of all problems and she, by conveying the pretence, that she was blissfully unaware of the state of these starving people, was trying to keep her entourage in this lovely lifted mindset. Those around her that were of nobility knew exactly what she was doing and probably appreciated it, however the less wise servants would have interpreted it very differently and seen it as either a callousness or an obliviousness to the state of her people. Hence today her statement lives on in infamy with many believing she was a royal who was out of touch. No no no. Not out of touch. But not a very touching thing to say around servants with big ears who would misunderstand. She is a splendid example of being so perfectly politically incorrect that her statement lives on today, 230 year later. She would have lost her head anyway. That’s what starving people do. They blame the other guy who ain’t hungry. If she left town on a fast horse she might have gotten away. Eventually that’s what she did but she left her run too late and instead went bravely to the scaffold. The mob was taken back by her bravery but they wildly cheered as they severed the head from her delicate body. “Ah the people, Aristotle. Be careful of them when their blood is up. They will cut your throat and cheer. Is it not therefore better to wear the disguise of a beggar than to be killed by them and spat upon. Be careful my dear Aristotle. “ Paulsletters.tumblr.con

Larry Barker the truth is better. People surprisingly will be more understanding of the truth that we think if it’s explained to them carefully. Yes initially her saying let them eat cake seemed callous but when the circumstances are taken into consideration in their entirety, it’s understandable and certainly forgive-able for those who can understand. Napoleon said the purpose of religion was to stop the poor from murdering the rich and hey the Guy was right. That’s why there’s all these crazy religions but it doesn’t mean God doesn’t exist in the form of Jesus Christ.

A very sad legend : she lived waaaayyyy tooooooo muuuuuuch "a la mode de palais de Versailles" ( la belle vie en rose) whilst 'her' French subjects were starving on the streets eating "sweetbread" and "ratatouilles". She would spend millions in jewelry and playing at the casinos with her "muchachos" and send several of her servants to guillotine = the head - choper . One day : the 'Lê Sans Culotts' , the 'girondins' , and the 'jacobins' had enough and sent her , and the other 3 Sturges to the cutter and cut - off her head.: louis xvi , the king and her 'husband' , the French bishop , and her lover went together with her. THAT WAS THE BEGINING OF THE DEMOCRACY AS WE DO KNOW NOW : AND THE END OF MONARCHY ALL MIGHTY IN , FRANCE . ... ... ... ... ... ... , ETC... ...

Glossary : Sweetbread : understand ; the worst parts of an animal that normally is thrown to the dogs : the guts , the brains , thymus , entrails , ... Topped - up with some disgusting sauce to disguise the manure. Ratatouille : understand ; rats and mouse puddings all together mixed with putrid red tomatoes and some green - grass , added to the chopped mouses and rats. That is where the famous French RATATOUILLE original recipee comes from , originally . Because people had nothing to eat ,,, they would devour anything : rats , herbs , dogs ... putrid tomatoes ...

You've just been taught math by people who really don't know how to teach. Math makes EVERYTHING possible, from the Earth spinning on its axis to the numbers on a speedometer. The paperback book, "Journey Through Genius" by William Dunham, tells about how math got started, from the ancient Greeks up to today. You can probably get it from your local library, or inter-library loan...GOOD LUCK!!
