Marie Antoinette has been defamed, mistreated and lied about as no other woman in european history. She was a teenager who was thrown into a foreign court, where she had no friends, just scheming relatives and courtiers. She only had fashion to express herself and to gain some self-esteem. After becoming a mother she was the most compassionate royal the french could imagine, but by that times it was already too late. The starving peasants needed a symbol and they "found" it in her. And given that human rights started with the french revolution, she was treated worse than a circus animal. If she had found some love with Fersen, it would have been the only time for that poor woman.

With all due respect to the scientists who deciphered this, I personally don’t see any signs of the Queen’s treason here. Yes, that’s right, she writes to Fersen, “My dear and gentle friend,” that is, yes, he is beloved, but at the same time he is still a friend. In addition, the letter contains no memories of how they spent together, and very, very in love people usually remember the night they spent in love letters. In addition, if we remember history, then why didn’t Marie Antoinette leave Paris in 1789 when she could have done so without problems. Why didn't she divorce in 1791 as Lafayette suggested? That is, she could have easily run away and lived with Fersen, but she did not. At the end they give us an intrigue that Louis 17 may be the son of Fersen, but the authors forgot that in 2000 there was a DNA analysis of the heart of Louis Charles and it was proven that he is the son of Louis 16. (In 2000, at the initiative of the historian Philippe Delorme, a DNA analysis was carried out of the heart, which is generally believed to have been removed during the supposed autopsy of Louis XVII and preserved in alcohol by the descendants of the doctor, and then passed from one European aristocrat to another. The experts concluded that the relevant genetic signatures matched DNA extracted from Marie Antoinette's hair and the hair of Louis' sister; thus, this fact is considered proof that the Dauphin actually died at the Temple in 1795.)

of course she had another love. louis didn't consummate the marriage until YEARS after they wed and even then, he was in and out, never to completion. she had no sense of satisfaction from him, he grew into a depressed, overweight man. balding, not all too handsome to start. he even went a bit mad with all of the disrespectful media being published about him. he couldn't persuade his court to offset the deficit. the rich refused to pay tax. the french were literally STARVING to death when marie built her personal cottage. they watched her spend and gallivant in luxury, while they suffered. she knew what her country thought of her and did absolutely nothing to rectify her image. the ending was tragic, but no surprise. my heart goes to her best friend, she had nothing to do with the state of the country, or its people. yet, she was beheaded, as well. and of course, their children, they suffered without cause, or reason. the people certainly got their point across. edit: she never said "let them eat cake" in response to the lack of bread. that, was a lie that somehow thrived as a direct quote, to this very day. she is still seen as a spoiled brat, not fit to be queen. which may have been true, but remember, she became queen when she was a teenager, and had no say in anything. she simply was there to encourage her husband and make children. second edit: and she was INCREDIBLY MANIPULATIVE towards her lover. keeping him hanging on the way she did, knowing they could never be together. she used his heart to pass time and entertain herself, she was a pleasure-seeker in every sense of the word. under-stimulated with out it.

@pipitameruje15 күн бұрын
@@rawrice3096 The use of gloves when handling old books and letters is no longer recommended. The oil in the hands, if they are properly washed before, will not damage the paper in significant ways. What will damage the paper is the diminished sensitivity of fingers wearing gloves, particularly the sort of gloves usually used for this task.
