I was a West Point cadet when this was filmed. We spent 8 hours in the sun for the filming. The best jokes were the ones Bob Hope told between scenes while they were resetting the stage for the next set. It was a great experience.

I was there & remember that day too at Michie Stadium. It's true that the best jokes were behind the scenes. I remember how funny Mickey Rooney was too & such a nice guy

My father was stationed there. It was very hot, but it was a great day! I loved it there. Delafield pond, horses at Morgan stables, watching the parades, talegaiting before the games, exercising the army mules. Many years later, my father was buried there. I remember when the hostages came back from Iran. Barbara Walter's helicopter landed at my high-school in Hyland Falls... The parade we had outside the main gate for their busses on the way to Thayer hotel for debriefing, was so moving. I had never seen so many yellow ribbons...Thank you for the walk down memory lane.
