Dear Marie-Anne, I really enjoy watching you in your inspirational videos and hearing your charming French accent. To answer your question, I do most of the things that you do to stay slim and trim, and eat very similar foods. I try not to eat anything (except sometimes 1 or 2 Pralinés after 7pm. And I I take a long, brisk walk every day (5000-8000 steps) no matter what the weather’s like. I laugh a lot, keep a good circle of friends and I love animals, especially the red squirrels that visit our garden regularly to claim their hazelnuts. They take them from our outstretched hands now. I also love being around horses, a sister mine and her husband have 2 in the stable near their house. What else, staying fit means having a positive outlook, and helping others in need where possible. Well, je croix que ca suffit maintenant. Merci beaucoup and all the best to you Marie-Anne and for the future.

For most people, exercise must be different. I walk to You Tube tunes around my apartment for a few hours. It adds up. I am on a restricted diet due to disease. I can not eat bananas, rice, or many carbs. I lost Weight easily by giving up on bread. Everyone must find their own approach. People with Asthma must take an inhaler first. I think lifestyle change must happen. Anyone can lose weight. Not everyone can keep it off!

For anyone who doesn’t want/can’t have a dog of their own, look round your area for an elderly neighbour who has one and offer to walk it if/when they can’t - they’ll be so grateful. I did this years ago and brought my neighbour of a deep cycle of depression (we are now close friends) and the dog lost weight too! And remember the importance of sleep for weight loss: if you’re on your devices (blue light) ‘til late into the night, stimulating your brain you won’t be relaxed enough to sleep which plays havoc with insulin levels, blood pressure etc. Thank you, M-A. x

Marie Ann, you work hard and eat little. It is not a secret, it is hard work. I eat relatively healthy and swim twice a week. I am still trim and in good shape. But I turned 50 and noticed my tummy is stubbornly bloated more and more often. My husband told me that when we get older, our metabolism slows down. We have to work harder to stay healthy and fit. I resented that as I feel I am already doing something. But after watching you, I will stop complaining and resenting, and move more. Thank you for the fun video!

Bloating is often caused by eating certain foods that are not good for our gut. I met with a dietitian several years ago and discovered that some of the foods that I have been eating for years causes me to bloat. I eliminated them and it helped tremendously. It is worth looking into.
@enjoystraveling8 ай бұрын
If I experienced bloating, I just drink a little lemon or lime water, and it stops it right away of course that may not work with everybody.
@littlelady78438 ай бұрын
@@nikkisue1715 That is good information. I thought about it but then i have been eating the same things for many years, no major diet change. I just feel it is very hard to get rid of the weight in the stomach area lately. I also heard menopause often cause mid-session weight gain. I am close with that age and it may be the beginning of it. My luck from good gene is running out. To maintain my body in shape and heathy, I need to move more and do more exercise.

1000% Great Menu! Especially sticking to ONLY fruit for breakfast, plus allowing for a 'fasting' period by not eating after a certain hour.... make a monumental difference. Learned those two concepts 40 years ago from my Fitness and Fashion Guru Mother. :) They work WONDERS. Like you MarieAnne, I've developed an exercise routine which works best for me, and which is done in the comfort and ease of HOME. I do them PLUS a Facial Exercise routine, 5 days a week religiously. Words cannot express what a profound difference/improvement the overall quality of my Life has experienced since re-dedicating myself to a regular fitness a little over two years ago. I strongly urge anyone reading this to embark on your OWN fitness/eating/self-care regime. It will be the best thing you'll ever do for yourself in your LIfe---sounds melodramatic, but the results will FAR outweigh the effort.

@@carolk2299 One indisputable fact I've learned about the 'best' diets/eating regimes.....You can have two highly educated, equally credentialed Nutritionists, both with years of painstaking study under their belts, who will stand up and shout completely OPPOSITE viewpoints--- with each presenting mountains of evidence to support their beliefs. This is one of those cases where Autonomy comes in.....being aware of one's own body and how you feel when eating a certain way, etc. Like all of us, the bottom line is that I can only claim expertise on that which works best for me. :)

Your property is just lovely. No wonder you keep trim with all the caretaking of your animals and landscaping. My husband and I have always cleaned our own house (he is 71 and I am 63) whereas our much younger neighbors hire people to clean their homes. It is such a different lifestyle and mindset here in the U.S. I started taking walks 5 days a week in my neighborhood and I absolutely love it. I have been retired for two years now and I missed socializing with adults, so I joined a local community center where I take a class on building better balance, strength and core, and Tai Chi. I also have the pleasure of taking care of my two grandsons now and again. I can't afford to lose weight so your eating plan would make me so hungry. Thanks for this video.

I grew up middle class in the US during the 90's, and I could not agree more. I don't understand the mentality of hiring someone to do your housecleaning that has become so prevelant today. When I was young, only wealthy people did that, and my mother and brother and I cleaned our house. I know someone who struggles financially, and their in-iaws pay for them to have a house cleaner instead of telling them/letting them do it themselves. 🤯 Yes, they have some slight physical challenges, but I do too, and I still do it. 🤷♀️ I want to stay strong!

Love your home in the French countryside especially the stone out-buildings so different from my rural home in arid Australia. I also start my morning with walking my dogs, mine are a little bigger than yours 😊 (border collies) we go for around 5.5 km. I also do more exercise or strength training in the evenings 4 - 5 days a week for 40 minutes to an hour. I think I am pretty fit, I rarely snack but I eat quite a bit more than you do and while I am not over-weight I would like to be a little thinner. You are definitely more disciplined with your food intake than I am which is no doubt why you are still so trim at 60. I hope you get your other channel up and running again.

Marie-Anne, it's SO hard to stay trim in the USA. Our food has so many chemicals in it that it messes with our hormones & body. I try to eat healthy but it's hard. I've been on every diet and even tried to eat the French way of eating but it just doesn't fit in with my life long term. I lose weight & then gain even more weight. I just started Wegovy and it's been amazing to not have that "Food Noise" in my head anymore. It's really working for me so far.

I hope it continues to work for you WB🙏

In the U.S., food portions are way too large; we’re inundated with advertising urging us to “supersize it.” Some foods are engineered to be addictive. We are still eating like pioneers, but we don’t get the exercise they did. We rely on our cars too much, and most suburbs are not designed to be walkable. I wish you the very best in your efforts to turn off the noise! 🤗🤗🤗
@SueRosalie7 ай бұрын
There are far too many processed foods in the American diet, I was horrified when visiting the supermarkets there. The average person doesn't seem to know how to prepare simple healthy foods from fresh ingredients. The portion sizes are also way too big.

I am SO moved by this video. I've seen several of your fashion videos, but this is the best! First of all, yes, portion size! In France and Italy, I really learned how enormous our American portions are! so I try to have "mini croissants" here, which are actually "regular-sized" croissants in Europe :). Secondly, your life taking care of your animals is SO moving! I lost my baby Simba last year, and am in that place where I am yearning to care for someone but wondering if I'm "too old" at this point (I'm 66 and live in NYC), so it's inspiring to see you. Of course, an adult partner would help at this age. Being a single mom when I was younger felt much more doable. But you are lovely! I really appreciate this video.

Bonjour Sherry - I am so sorry for your loss. Pets fill our hearts and leave huge holes when they go. I am sure when the time is right you will find a new Heart Filler ❤️🤗 you are never too old to love a little one ands be loved back 🙏 plus they keep you young 😃

Marie-Anne, you work hard snd and your property is beautiful! I don't have a farm but I am trying to get more into gardening. After all the planting, weeding, etc it's a lot of exercise. I kove your videos, they are so much fun and so are you!

Bonjour Marie-Anne, Thanks for another great video. Incorporating activity into my regular routine is something I try to do - parking the car far away from the store's door so I have to walk, etc. No horses or animals here on our suburban property, but lots of gardening! Loved watching your dancing moves!

Marie Anne: thank you for modeling how to be an elegant mover and healthy eater. My favorites here: take care of the animals first. Do the house work myself. And the garden work! Of course! No snacking. Exercise: it doesn’t have to be expensive or hard. And dance! Thank you! Best tip is no snacking and small portions and light supper.

Merci beaucoup Marie-Anne!!!What a beautiful home you have! Love your animals too! OMG what is the name of your weed remover machine....we really need one. Thanks in advance if you remember the name of it! For exercise I lift light weights a couple times a week, exercise/dance to music and walk around the neighborhood that has a few hills. Love talking to the neighbors and getting some good exercise. Thank you for this friendly reminder to live our healthiest life!!!

Love your lifestyle - and the animals! Everyone’s physiology is different: while you seem to thrive on a diet quite high in sugar (fruit, juice) many people over 60 need more protein to retain their muscle and keep bones & ligaments strong.

WOW! What an amazing property! I am slim , also, but I feel the need to feed you after all of that work!! Actually, I lived in Asia for four years, and when I came back to America, I was simply shocked by the enormous portions here. We do not need this much food! Clearly our bodies were not designed for that, or we would not have so many obese people.

Dear Marie, thank you very much for great tips. Note that not everyone is healthy to follow or to exercise. Basic tip would be, avoid sugar, cook and avoid processed food. Eat real food. Pay attention of the portions. A glass of wine now and than. Otherwise, great Ideas.
