Is this really Mariella Devia? I don't know her much but from what I heard, she started out as lyric soprano, but here she sounds extremely dramatic. Wow. Also is she singing in Italian? I hear some pitchy moments though.

It's not the original German lyrics. At some places it sounds like it, but it's definitely not. The Italian version of the aria that I know sounds different though.

Okay, Devia is also just a human. But i have to confess that I'm surprised how hard she struggles with this aria and i never heard pitch problems in her singing before.

The Fs are flat, and the scales are not perfectly defined. From someone whose voice is designed for high coloratura roles, I expected better.

Stefano Cau Tavera the first F is flat the second isnt the thirs and fourth is also flat...and yeah ur right the scales arent very clear

@@creutzfeldtjakob7 yes you're right. Only the second F6 is the only spot on F6. But her voice suits the role.

@@arniekevinvalera8166 mariella devia is a lyric coloratura, the queen is a dramatic coloratura which is rare thats why the role usually is performed by lyric coloraturas...a true dramatic coloratura will still be a more suited queen

@@creutzfeldtjakob7 on the contrary. Mariella Devia is a dramatic coloratura, and QotN is a high lyric coloratura role (with very few dramatic coloraturas able to sing it). Devia’s range, though absolutely stratospheric, “only” went up to E6.
