My wife and I were in the Solid Gold studio audience when this was recorded. During breaks, Marilyn spoke with anyone about anything they wanted to ask her. She demonstrated a genuine interest in everything we said and asked of her. She is a gracious and incredible woman, a model for other Hollywood types to follow. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to tell her what a huge impact she and the 5th Dimension had on my life in the 60's and 70's. God bless her and Billy 44th anniversary:-)

Ahhh Marilyn makes another song all her own .. She never seems to just sing a song, she makes you feel the song .. That's what separates her from so many other singers .. They have great voices too, they just don't make you feel what you are listening too .. Kudos to McCooFan for another classic ..

Watching this video one might think this is an up and coming group debuting on the Johnny Carson show but it's not, it's the finest female vocalist to ever grace a stage...Marilyn McCoo. She sure knows how to turn a good song into a great song. Let's not forget the Solid Gold musical director Michael Miller who creates renditions that only Marilyn could make so beautiful and pefect... great team. Hey McCoofan, I don't know how you find these but thanks so much. It's nice to see these again.

Well, thank you! This is Michael Miller here, and your comment is very much appreciated. Also, many thanks to “mccoofan” for reuniting me with this performance of Marilyn and my Solid Gold Band (me on piano, Rocky Davis on keyboards, George Doering on guitar, Dave Edelstein on bass, Jeff Gerson on percussion, and Ron Aston on drums).

I still just don't understand why Marilyn wasn't offered a contract in the early 80s...she should have been making albums during that time.

I guess they wouldn't allow Marilyn to sing "under the covers" (she sings: looking for cover). How innocent that seems now!
