Marilyn more than proved Her acting ability in "Niagara" for which I believe She should have won the Oscar. The Strasbergs were the worst thing that ever happened to Her.

Norma Jean created Marilyn Monroe. She did not want money , all she wanted was to be a great actress and be respected. She was fired more than once by the studios. Norma Jean was a work in progress and took advantages of the acting , dancing, singing classes she received, just waiting for the right opportunity. She even went to the Actor’s Studio in New York to receive acting lessons and the studios and the press made funny of her, and even created a play in Broadway with references to her at that time. Yes, they wanted to punish her for what she did. And at the end Marilyn became the biggest movie start of her generation and the good actress that is still present in our days! You made it Norma Jean! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👋👋👋👋👋👋

Censorship served The Seven Year Itch very well; I wouldn't change a thing about it. The outakes lack subtlety. I thought the title referred to the temptation to stray, rather than "straying" - the play must have had a very different vibe.

The ONE thing that i severely disliked about Bus Stop was Don Murray. His character annoyed me to the point that i can't hardly enjoy the movie.

I wish I could bring back to life all those sensorship people to make them watch Game Of Thrones. Or movies starring Trumps's favorite star Stormy Daniels.

Yes indeed. Arthur Miller's memoir book is welll worth checking out too - it has many personal and perceptive pages about his vulnerable and iconic wife.

@@louise_rose Thank you so very much for that suggestion. As much as I adore Marilyn and have even read every single Arthur Miller play, I have never before read his memoir, and I must change that.

@@AvecPoesie I picked it up when my local public library (in Sweden) was laying off deleted books. It was in great condition, and for free - but I noticed that someone had carefully cut out those photo pages that had any pics with Marilyn on them! 😄

@@louise_rose Nice story. Shame the pictures were cut out. That's so a library thing! & when they give books away, I miss those days, I was always in the library and sometimes go still. Was the book you got translated into Swedish or was it in English? 📚
@louise_rose3 ай бұрын
@@Dreamskater100 It was in Swedish (though public libraries here also buy from abroad, books that would not have been easily available in regular book stores around here... (and I'm from an old university town, so the regular book trade here is more varied than in most places)

Hope Lange is the only female co star that I have heard speak ill against Marilyn Monroe when she says Marilyn tried to have her fired. Everyone from Jane Russell, Lauren Bacall, Jane Fonda to Mitzi Gaynor have only said lovely things about her as a person.
