Oh, my heart. I just finished watching The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes on Netflix, and it left me feeling so hurt for this "waif," as she called herself, who turned into a megastar. Even in the end, she didn't see herself as capable of being loved, and yet she was such a beautiful, loving, giving soul. She didn't lie; she didn't have to. She didn't take sex seriously. I've loved MM since i saw my mum watching one of her movies around 30 yrs ago (wtf where does the time go). I was around 9/10 yrs old. Just fell in love when i saw her on the screen, same as James Dean when i was 15. I bought a check she signed from 1960, it was nice kinda having something like that.
