I have two of the old chenille/chain stitch machines and a free hand monogram/embroidery machine and three treadles and I am so loving this! You are awesome! 👍🏻

This is exactly like with my grandmother-in-law emborider many years ago. She used a tradition method. I am amazed at how much it looks like it was done by hand and needle and not hand and machine..

That is amazing. You do have a very good result with that technique. I have an odd singer Improved Family machine that I can put 2 top stitch threads on and will try this on that machine in the future. Very neat way of threading that. That will work very well on the IF machine.

Because your beautiful work I have bought several old and one antique Singer machines. I have taken one to a machine repair to make sure the tensions, and timing are right. I have been unable to find a 114w103, so I have attempted this technique with a couple of my machines. I have been unsuccessful. You make it look so easy. But I am unable to find the right tensions, and I find that the threads tend to twist together and I may get a loop here and there, I also have no clue what the back looks like, could you attach a photo of the back? that helps sometimes figure out the tensions. I have just about lost hope getting my machines to do anything that resembles your work. I know it can be done, I see it with my own eyes, but alas I fail. Thank you in advance if you have time to respond. Dionne

Hello Dionne, I can not attach a photo here but the back will just look like straight stitch sewing. You want your tension be a little looser on the top and the bobbin tension may have to be a little tighter. Sometimes it takes a little time and patience plus experimenting to get your machine to work as you wish. I hope you have gotten it working.
